Hey yall I am in the market for a 1gb Mp3 player that is under $120 and has exeptional playback quality. Please help because I know virtually nothing when it comes to this.

I suggest searching a forum before posting something like this. If you had you might have found this (http://www.warboards.org/showthread.php?t=7903&highlight=mp3+players).

My friend has and likes that one. I find 1gb to not be enough storage, so I went with a Zen Micro which is only 199.99 (for the 6gig) or 179.99 (4 gig).

I'd check into this one that timp mentioned though:I wouldn't recommend an IPod. Creative has very good MP3 players. I'd avoid Rio, though. From past experiences, their MP3 players tend to be cheaply made. I'm currently using a Creative NOMAD Muvo2 which has a 4GB mini-hard drive, rechargable (and removable) batteries, and does not require any proprietary software (iTunes). It also allows you to copy the music on it to another HD (IPod does not let you do this). Last time I checked they were around $130 on Newegg.

Creative MP3 players are good. I've had one for a little over a year and know several people who have bought other models and I've heard only good things. Some of the models have perks that you won't find on an iPod such as voice recording, FM radio, and native WMA support. The particular model I have is the Creative Nomad Muvo2 which has a 4GB hard drive and can be bought for around $130 now.

iPods have their pros and cons. Thank you all for your helpfull advice and I think I am going to go get a creative because of the number of people who say they are good inside and outside of this forum.

They claim 15 hours, but that depends on the battery. I think I've changed the battery twice in 6 months and I use it a few times a week. I use industrial Energizers, a bit better than the consumer brands.

I assume you're talking about battery life, right?

It holds 8 hours (average) of audio mp3 music.
