Well? Are you old enough to order a beer? If you are, what kind of beer do you prefer?
My favorite beers in no particular order:
Warsteiner(pilsner)
Grolsch (lager)
Creemore Springs Premium Lager (microbrew)
Hoegaarden (white beer)
Moosehead (microbrew)

Does age stop anybody? :p No, I'm not but I do it anyways. My dad gives me one on rare occasion but I don't care for beer to much.
Beer is a taste which I haven't acquired yet. I perfer the hard liquer.

20--One more year and I'll be 21! I don't drink anywayz though. That stuff never exactly went down with me right. I'm what you call a lightwieght. A few sips of some stuff and I am already drunk to the count!
And no, I have not gotten drunk recently, this was back before Jesus Christ was the Lord of my life. :P

I'm old enough. My favorite drinks are, in no real order: Carlsberg Special Brew, Bud Light, Zeppelin Cider, Skol Super, 8.0 Premium, and Rocheforte 10. Mostly super lagers, as you can tell.

I've been legally able to drink for almost four years, and have certainly made use of that. I personally prefer spirits over beer, although I drink pretty much everything. My favourite drink would probably be Ouzo and Vanilla Coke. :)

No, I am not, but I do indulge. I have brought it upon myself to try what I can. However, I'm nothing but a poor college student so I can't really get out and try some of the better beers.
Personally, I enjoy
Blue Moon (with an orange slice in it, especially) - Pale Ale
Sam Adams Bosten Lager
Rolling Rock - Extra Pale Lager
Lowenbrau - Lager
I guess the keyword is cheap but good. I had the Sam Adams when I went out and happened to get myself a glass. That stuff is amazing. Normally I'll go in with a few of the brothers here and we'll get ourselves a case of Rolling Rock for a decent price.
Of course, until recently I was more of a hard liquor drinker than anything else.

Ooh that sounds good. Most people will hate me because I'm a typical college kid who prefers beast and natty and aristocrat, the stuff that is cheap enough to allow me to never have to worry about reaching dangerous levels of blood in my alcohol stream. and i dont have to send home to the parents for more money to buy 'textbooks' two or three times in the middle of a semester ;)
hmm favorite drink...I'm not so familiar with micros that I can say I've found one I really like. i like G&T's though

Nah, I'm not old enough to drink. I've only had one beer, a light beer that should never be brewed by or for humans for the remainder of time. Maybe when I'm older (or in another country ^_^) I'll find something I like, but I'm not particularly anxious to start drinking.

At college we often resorted to Goon, which is like an ultra-cheap version of wine. It did the job very efficiently...

That's alright B.I. I'll do the drinking for you.
A list of my favorites are:
TGIFriday's - Mudslide mix (though they say just add ice and blend but I drink it straight)
Black Russians (2 parts vodka and 1 part Kahlua)
Cinnamon Schnapps Liqueur
Rumplemans 151
These aren't light weight drinks I can tell you. ;)

not old enough but hell, i'm in college
i prefer straight shots of tequila, preferably 1800
Whiskey is good too
vodka tastes like rubbing alcohol (but kettle1 is ok)
schnapps are the devil
beer is ok but only when playing beer pong (unless coronas)
and Irish carbombs are awesome

Somebody's on fire. God damn, those made me laugh my ass off.
As for me, yeah, I'm old enough to drink. But no, I don't. I've even worked as a bouncer in a number of places that offer free drinks / discounts to the meatheads and still didn't partake. The only stuff I can stand to drink is shit that tastes like Kool-Aid anyway. :)
I think it has to do with that I drink so much in volume normally (64oz from 7-11--89c, I can handle about 2-3 a day) that drinking booze can dehydrate me pretty quickly. There's some kind of balancing act to perform, I'm sure, but it really seems like a waste of time. Not to mention that seeing people drunk all the time sort of forces you to recognize some of the darker side to drinking and makes that association difficult to overcome.
I've seen some fucked up stuff--don't ask.
When it comes to spirits, I am usually a Gin and Juice kind of guy. I like Tequila straight, but it's kind of expensive ever since the agave crops failed a few years in a row. I also drink a lot of Vodka, Disaronno Originale Amaretto, Royal Crown, and Amarula.
Favorite drink is probably a Mexican Sunrise:
2 parts tequila
1 part amaretto
3 parts ruby grapefruit juice over crushed ice

What's the difference between this and a tequila sunrise? BTW, grapefruit is fucking nasty, keep that shit out of my drinks.

Probably nothing but the name. A Mexican sunset is identical, but it's served with Orange Juice instead of Grapefruit Juice.
Damn. Now I am thirsty, and I can see a bottle of Malibu staring at me from the corner of my eye... time for a drink and a smoke!
No I am not. But I don't intend getting drunk even if I was old enough. Having control over my own mind is very appealing to me. And alcohol is vile stuff anyway.
nix14085
01-23-2006, 3:16 AM
i dunno i dont exactly loose control. I never really get beer goggles or the like and no one has gotten me to smoke pot while drunk despite MANY attempts. as far as the dark side to drinking, yea it exists but im a really happy drunk so i never had too much of a problem. (although i don't like to get too drunk. hangovers suck)

I'm alittle under 2 months off buying alcohol myself. I don't really have a favourite for beer, I haven't tried enough types because most of the ones I do try are just the cheap ones for getting drunk, out of the cheap ones my favourite is export gold.
Other favourites. Rum and coke; Gin, sake and L&P; kahlua and milk (at home, its hard to get milk at parties, plus kahlua isn't cheap); I'll drink anything straight when I want to get drunk; kahlua, icecream and coffee. Thats all I can think of now. Oh and wine, I love wine as long as its good wine.
Old enough to drink, but I don't.
I've tried a few mixed drinks and the only one that I actually liked was Cap Morgan's Spiced rum and coke (or pepsi?) meh.
I am just a big nerd though -- I prefer just having Code Red/Pepsi normally rather then mixing them.
The few wines I have tasted (my grandfather is a partial wine snob) weren't that great, though there was a dark one that wasn't to bad.
My mother picks up Cap Morgans Spiced now and again and mixes her own drinks when shes off work -- sometimes I'll have one of those.
-Neo
For mass consumption, I'll choose either Budweiser or Icehouse. For quality refined drinking, I choose Warsteiner. In fact, there's a case waiting for me in the fridge tonight.
As for spirits, nothing beats a quick shot of Jack Daniels.
A $10-$15 bottle of Merlot is also consumed on occasion.

I'm not in the legal age, but I have a drink from time to time, usually Bacardi and Coke, but in small amounts. I hate beer.

Did they bollocks, that is what is called "Pretending to be drunk to try and look cool"
Like a bloke that got fed some bits of paper with smily faces drawn on them by some of my mates who told him it was ecstasy... :P
As to me, Yes and hell yes.
I am a happy/awful singing/arsehole when drunk. B ut I have never started a fight, nearly got my head stomped in whilst near comatose though :P
Favourite drinks
Carling (Student bar, £1.50 a pint, apart from that its a bit crap)
Carlsberg - A slightly nicer lager.
Hobgoblin, a dark ale.
Skol Super - "A refreshing full bodied strong lager with a distinctive fruity aroma" - hahaha
Wifebeater (aka, Stella Artois) - Premium lager at its most insane.
Bishops Finger - Brewed at Great Britains oldest brewery, also has a funny name. Its an ale.
Spirits I tend to avoid on reasons of price and/or rankness, but If I am in a hurry Double vodkas with orange is a good way to get started (or finished off, as per me almost getting my head stompyed).
Also, all those saying they will never drink or get drunk. Just try it, never try never know. And by the gods is it fun :P

Yeah, it is not possible to get drunk off of 6 sips of beer. I haven't tried a ton, but I realized that I hate Coors Light, Natti is amazing becuz it cost $11 for a 30 rack. I also love corona with lime.

False. Casual drinking has been shown to be beneficial, especially red wines. If you are abusing alcohol, then perhaps your claim may have some merit, but to blanket all alcohol consumption with such ignorance is careless and highly misinformed. Excessive intake of virtually anything can be harmful to the human body. If you don't want to drink, that's fine, but don't use pseudo-scientific statements to support your decision.
Moderation is key.

Dont drink anymore, but I used to, even before I was at the legal age (probably drunk more back then), but have never been compleatly wasted, or had a hangover.
Cider is my drink of choice, usually blackthorn or strongbow, but scrumpy is good where it exists
And my prefered non-pint drink is Port, as it has a better taste than other spirits

I'm 19, two years short of the drinking age. The only time I drink is at special occassions such as holidays, and even then, not in excessive amounts.
Wine is my personal favorite, dry to semi-sweet, although Raspberry Zinfandel is the exception to that. That stuff is heaven. If I have a beer, it's normally a Sam Adams or that Canadian one, something-blue...Nothing beats a good mead however. I could drink it by the flagon!

Interestingly enough, even though many are not of age, there are more "drinkers" on Warboards than "abstainers".
Assuming everyone told the truth, which I doubt.
What would be the point of lying on an internet forum though?
Lets face it, no one can prove anything, and no-one actually knows who you are, so why bother lying?

Anyone who wants to seem cool at all, let alone to people they will never meet should be dragged out into the street and shot.

I'm underage, and I don't drink except for an occasional small (and I mean tiny) glass of wine maybe 3 times in a year. I can't stand the smell of beer, and getting drunk leaves you vulnerable, and I really dislike vulnerability like that. So yeah, I don't really drink, and I doubt I really will. No one in my immediate family drinks much, my parents have margaritas every now and then. My brother turned 21 last July, and he can still count all the alchoholic drinks that he's had on one or both hands.

I think he just doesn't have that much money for alcohol, and he doesn't see the point. He is a lightweight though in the literal sense...he's 6'1" and weighs the same as I do, and I'm anything but overweight and 5'4". It's crazy.

Why would you care what people you never met think about you? It makes no sense to me.
Even though I don't weigh a lot, my alcohol tolerance is really high, which makes it easier to drink enough to satiate my tastes while remaining perfectly sober.
Drinking age in Canada is 19, eh? Hmmm....perhaps I'll take a trip up there on my next vacation ;)
