somewhere in the $600-1000 range
none of those OMG ENTERTAINMENT NOTEBOOK thingys
i just need it for myself
school stuff really
maybe something to handle ps cs, and flash mx

Centrino isn't a processor, it's a marketing term for a group of Intel mobile products. For that price range, Dell's probably your best bet.
