What's going on? vB 3.0.0 has been out for a while now.

An update can be tedious, boring and detrimental to health. ;)
We can wait for an upgrade. What's new in it?
Where you got that, I don't see any thing else but:
Powered by vBulletin 3.0.0

That was added by Fenguin in the footer image. It's not text spit out by the script. Anyway, if you go to www.warboards.org/admincp you'll see it say vBulletin 3.0.0 Release Candidate 4 Admin. And no, mr. paranoid admin, I have not made any attempts to crack the password.
As far as what's new, probably bug fixes. Those are always good to have. Of course, I'd understand if the admins didn't want to upgrade because they were aware of nasty bugs that were introduced in vB3 Gold.
The upgrade itself only corrected minor issues in the software, and we're planning on upgrading shortly.. however our custom login script that ties into WC.org among other things has left us with needing to check over the new version before upgrading.
And.. Edge and I both have had major time constraints lately, so not getting too much done. ;)
As for you checking the admincp, umm.. yeah. good work? Heh, do that often do you? : )

I'm guessing he tries out a new password each day to see if he ever gets yours. =P

haha yes the password is ehjay.
But admin-cp is bound to set IP:s, so h4x0ring it wouldn't be so easy, I guess.

Wait, doesn't WCLegacy have some custom login thing with BF? They had upgraded by the Monday after the release.
So you guys have been busier than E-man and XG3, eh?
And I don't check that often, just a few times since I learned vB3's admin panel was in /admincp and not /admin. BTW, what do most sites do when they already have a site control panel in /admin and are still on vB2? Create a symlink to the panel with another name?
I've seen the admin demo for both 2 and 3, and if I had that kind of money, I wouldn't mind paying the $160 for it if they removed or lowered the membership renewal price. I can't say the same for vB2.
Anyway, what does the error look like if you get the password, but aren't connecting from an accepted IP?

Wait, doesn't WCLegacy have some custom login thing with BF? They had upgraded by the Monday after the release.Their integration is nowhere near as complicated as ours; they only use a traditional vBulletin user database, and let Warcraft Legacy check passwords against it. We also have a 8,000+ account Warcraft.org database, and we made quite a few mods to vBulletin to keep both databases in sync.
We haven't had the time to go through those mods and fix them up for 3.0 Gold. Hopefully, it'll get done this weekend.

All Moderator passwords are automatically set to "iloveAJ" upon promotion, in case you're curious.

That was the reason for new account.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember someone saying a long time ago that if you sign up here with the same account name and password as your account on warcraft.org, you'll be able to use that account. But maybe times have changed and that no longer applies. :p Or was it the opposite?
Yes, if you have an account at warcraft.org, all you should have to do is register here using the same account name and password that you use at WC.org and you'll have access to your account name here.
Sigh.. why you dont let us know.. :P

So... do you want to fix all this up and get your Seal account back, Seal? :)

Maybe some magical people can do some magic to change his name to Seal while preserving posts and Warcraft.org account... ;)

so...It appears that our ghost has been discovered, eh FENGUIN???
and that feature that allowed you to have the same account as in Wc.org was annoying cause i had 2 accounts and forgot the passwords to both...and i didnt want any other name except Mtank or Mtankha.

If people would just read the damn pages before clicking randomly, they might notice these things ... the registration page spells out exactly what you need to do to use a WC.org account. Right at the top of the page.
And Mtank, to get your password back, you could have tried the "Account Recovery" page that is linked right on the WC.org login page ... what did you think that link was for? ;)
Do I need to make all the informational text MORE OBVIOUS? :p
i did, but i had forgotten that i had any .org accounts...then i thought i knew the passwords, but later realised i didnt. Then i went directly to .org and changed my password. didnt work. then i came back, clicked, didnt get the mail. (later found it had gone to junk) and so on...
yea i am a pitiful person, i know...

There wasn't when I joined...
Or I just didn't notice it at all, have it get an error message if the username is already taken by a .ORG account (and include the instructions how to use that if it is yours)?

When's the last time something got done at the time it would hopefully get done?

The last time nobody was doing incessant bugging about it. ;)

Well, I'm not planning on bringing this up again for a while. But Edgewize is certainly not the first one to give a date something will hopefully be done by, and fail to meet it. And I don't ask "When will it be done?" as often as some people.

There are just so many damn timesinks in my life... I almost want to quit school and turn .ORG into a full-time job.
That said, I'm really embarassed that I haven't got Gold up, so I'm doing it right now.
Edit: welcome to VB 3.0 Gold!

Yay Gold!
The Gold-related images kinda freaked me out for a while...
So yeah, lockage sounds pretty good to me. :D
