This Sucks -_-

Well, afer coming home from a 10 hour LAN party at a freinds house and bringing all of my equipment back, I set it up, turned it on and noticed something wrong...

My Samsung Flat Panel 15" Monitor has a big f**king circle of messed up pixels on it! :(

This is the second time in the last 6 months or so that this particular Samsung model has given me problems and frankly I am fed up with it. Once I find the receipt I am going to bring it back and hope it is still in its warranty zone. Do you guys (and gals) have any advice or ideas for what I should buy instead?

I did handle it carefully but I guess something slid or fell into it on the way back so I suppose its my fault but this still pisses me off...


Bottom line;
What company do you use/reccomend if I buy a new flat panel?

Well is the LCD cracked or are the pixels stuck on one color, or what? Try leaving the display on for awhile with a screen saver or movie, to see if that clears it up. If the pixels are stuck, I hear if a movie that flashes red green and blue over and over again really fast will help.

And to answer your question about which company: All the brand name comapnies use the same three or four LCD manufacturers in all their displays. So it doesn't really matter.

Well, I took your advice WL, and it seems to have worked, the pixels are now back to normal.

I suppose that'll teach me to be more careful with my equipment in the future :shiftyl:

wow no way. yeah i purchased accidental damage protection for my laptop, it was really a good deal I think considering I just sent it away for them to repair a cracked/broken lcd (a big-ass object fell on it, from a high distance. don't ask) and they came and picked it up, and sent it back, I was without my laptop for four days, thats it. i was impressed, even though i had to sit on the phone for about 12 hours.

but now i have just one pixel thats stuck on red, so i gotta try that. know of any good movies? ;)

aaahhh my eyes! I can't see my screen anymore!!

So...... know of any flash movies that will remove a black dot thats physically stuck on the screen? :P I don't notice it, but if I look closely it's still there from when HP had to replace my screen.

As hard as I try, I still haven't been able to get flash movies to remove the finger smudges on my screen. Sorry BMB.
