I know its sounds Fubar buts is there a way to make a map editor with the cababiltys of Arsenal 3 and maybe ice and play the map with a mod? I was really wondering about this because it could take B.net play to a new extreme think about if the mod is in the map you wouldn't have to have the mod to play!!!! So is it possible?

I very much doubt it...

Yes, it's very easy, although you don't need ICE, unless you want to look at their idle animation when your placing units, you could make a StarEdit mod. Just do the same thing you would do for making a mod using MPQDraft, but select StarEdit instead.

If you want to mod an X-tra Editor, click brows and find an X-tra Editor.exe.

EDIT: **After rereading your post**
O, but if someone with out the mod, wouldn't see any changes. So what your really saying, it can't be done.

Oh... poo but what i meant was that the mod is embedded into the map so that you can't dl the map without the mod nd whe you run the map the mod runs to like changing a uints damage and stuff but on a bigger scale like in arr 3

That's something along the lines of an "automodder" that the guys at SEN were talking about a while ago (was it only this April?). Basically, it'd embed the modified files within the map's MPQ, but they never figured out how to cycle through MPQs without closing the actual game.

It was also a blatant breach of the EULA.

Well techically anything in modding is a breach in the EULA but i guess your write oh well :'(

Doesn't the current SCMDraft 2 allows to embed *.mpq's into maps (through the "master options" bit)? ;)
And note, that I'm only stating that it only imbued the modded *.mpq(s), but it isn't able to run it in anyway known by me at the time being. :_poke:

it would take alot of editing.
but
work backwards::make a battle.net like thing that can temporarly replace data files with mod files.you would need a good coder, but it would make modding much more popular.might be easier than hard coding the map to do it.

Uberation was kinda like this. User ToG to do some crazy stuff.

But Blizzard hates us SC fans so they killed them off.

It wasn't exactly because of that n' you know it. :P The "Triggers of God" involved messing with the hidden players (from 13-255) that were used by the game engine to process certain commands and that could easily be used by some folks with few to none knowledge of programming to make hacks for SC-BW. Alas, it's kinda their fault that they programmed the game engine to be easily accessed like that, even if only to a certain extent. :(

Personally i'd keep Modding and Mapping seperate. It could cause confusion for mappers who have no clue about modding and modders who have no clue about mapping.

Although once i did see a game where the Wraith's cooldown (for Gemini's) had been reduced. It wasn't run with a mod (before i even started to mod) but i don't know how it was done. Maybe it was a map that allowed you to edit extra bits of data.

Or maybe the wraith was removed after it shot, a new wraith was created at it's spot, and ordered to shoot towards whatever the previous wraith was shooting at?

also if u told the wraith to move and it got replaced it would stop moving... which would be a big pain and very noticeable
