If you haven't already, please read this thread first.
So, because Diablo II wouldn't launch when I had the latest patch installed, I uninstalled the game. Then I installed the game again, but did not install the latest patch. That's more than two weeks ago. Today, I finished the game (I mean that I killed Diablo) and installed the expansion. Considering there were no error messages, I thought the installation process was successfull. After having installed the expansion, I tried to launch it. Guess what?! It didn't. Same story as with the original Diablo II; I rebooted, tried to launch it again, downloaded and installed the latest patch for the expansion, then tried to launch it again. But still it wouldn't launch. Please, if you know what I need to do now, then tell me. I'd very thankful if you do. See; if I don't manage to solve this problem, I won't be able to play the expansion because this is the only computer I have.
And yes; my CD is in the drive and my computer meets the system requirements as set by Blizzard Entertainment.
***UPDATE***
I have successfully updated the driver for my video card. Then I rebooted and tried to launch the game. It still failed to launch. After having rebooted again, I installed the latest patch for the game, once more. As of now the game still won't launch. I'm out of possible solutions and really desperate for help right now. Please, I need help with this. I want to play Lord of Destruction, preferrably with the latest patch installed.
The brand and model of my video card are Nvidia GeForce FX 5600 (128 MB). The old version of my video card driver was 66.93, the current version is 81.98.
