Hey! I got the game for Christmas, and installed it yesterday and played it for a couple hours today/yesterday.
I'm a lvl 6 Dwarven Paladin named Phazanzar, I'm on the medivh (sp?) server with skippy (who is awesome btw :D). Overall my first impression of the game is good, although I found the battle system a little clunky at first (less automated than GW, probably a good thing overall when you get used to it). The number of lil spells/item buttons you can have on your bar is a little overwhelming.
Character Creation: first off, 2 sides... 8 different races. Already it pawns GW in this aspect. Although I found the lack of a height slider a little dissappointing :(. Also, the lack of ability to have more than one class is a little restricting... hybrid classes in GW were nice.
RPG factors, like professions just kick ass. I'm a blacksmith/miner (as first/second in respective order). I haven't messed around with it that much yet...
Because... I'm having major overheating issues. For the last couple months my PC has been freezing during GW/other games and it carried over to WoW... not until today did I realize it was heating issues. We installed another fan but it only helped keep the system running for a little while longer (about 20 minutes... most of the time it freezes every 20-30 minutes or so... ). I did get a nice long segment (about an hour, I know.. pathetic) by taking off the side panel and putting a fan up next to it.
Worked for awhile... but my dad says it's best not to play until we can get new cpu fan (what we believe is fudged) so I'll be WoW-less for awhile longer... even though the icon is right in front of my face
