Patches??

Im not sure if this is in the right section or not and i probally sound stupid but ive never used a patch, but

what is a patch?
will it screw up my starcraft game?
is it permanent?
is it safe?

Yes you do sound increadably stupid, but you probobly arent so...

A patch is type of thing you install to the game which basically updates it. No it will not screw up your Starcraft game,infact, it will make it better.Yes it is permanent(I think...)Yes it is very safe. Patches are made by the creater of the game(in this case, Blizzard).

Patches fix various bugs or make balance changes to the game.

For example, in stacraft, the 1.00 version had a few bugs, so they created a patch to update it to 1.01 which fixed various bugs.

I believe during 1.04 or 1.06 or so they changed the price of Missle Turrets from 100 minerals to 75.

Patches won't ruin your game, and some even implement certain functions (like replays).

Thnx yall and ya i never used patches i was pretty satisfied with the oringnal version but lately ive been interested in modding and creating campaigns in Starcraft. Oh and thnx for the help again.
