Hey guys when I was installing HALO1 for the PC into my computer. It gives me this error message...

"Halo Setup encountered a disk error while writing to the file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\Maps\sounds.map. Make sure your harddisk is not full and that the file is not in use."

Well I have a 160gig harddrive and I just got my computer. So yea, I have tried to solve the problem myself but couldn't do it. Can u awsome guys help me out?

Check the properties on the disk to ensure that you have the space and second of all, is this the first time you've tried installing it? If it's trying to install over a previous copy or the demo which has a file in use for some reason, it could also be giving you the problem. Make sure you have enough drive space and make sure to delete the folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo (if it exists) before trying again.

lol, what I was thinking of doing was downloading the file somewhere and just patching it into the game file that is already in the hard-drive.

It shouldn't be too hard to find the raw files to be put on your hard drive. But then again if the installation is messed up the disk might be also.
