I had an old computer that i often used, but I killed it. So, im using a different computer now, but i want the bookmarks that i had from my firefox on my old computer. So, i took out the harddrive. But, in the mozilla directory, there is no straightforward "profile" folder.
Here's what i want to do:
I want to have another profile for me, having all my old bookmarks, that wont disturb my parents profile.
What file do i need to copy into my directory, or what do i need to do this?
Thanks,
Mark

Assuming you're in windows xp:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
Select whichever profile has your bookmarks in it, probably some numbers plus default (my directory is 28r8u2qw.default). In this folder you will find "bookmarks.html." Copy and paste this into your profile directory (in those same places) on your new computer. Since the file is in your documents and settings, it should not affect your parent's experience at all.
Adding somewhat to what Modred said, be sure that you don't have two profile folders/files with "default" amidst it's label.
I ain't exactly sure but that just might screw FF's profile handler, so (if I were you) I'd create a new profile inside the new PC's FF and then replace it's content with your "default" files from the old HD recovery. You must also label the ones that had your old "default" name into the same name that the new profile folder has, so it's best to keep the recently files somewhere around just to know how to copy-paste their exact names.
If that looked complicated and you still have doubts on what to do, just ask and we'll try to do a small step-by-step follow up. ;)

Is there anywhere else that the file is saved?
