noob -- How do I increase the unit limit?

Hi! Im a noob to starcraft modding but I really need to know how to increase the unit limit without making every unit cost 0 food. I know there is a way and I need to know how to do it. PLEASE! SOMEBODY HELP ME!

lol You mean open StarCraft.exe in notepad and among the millions of meaningless letters and numbers miraculously find the right spot to change?

That's pretty much what you have to do. I don't think anyone knows what the offset is already for the current version of StarCraft, but they just might for another version.

Its never a miracle. Don't knock on those of us who can actually find this stuff. It takes knowledge of what your looking for, how it is stored, and when it is accessed. In other words, a lot of work. Mainly, you're looking for the hex number 0x190(400d). But, I'm not here to teach how to hack the exe. There's plenty of places to do that. Besides, it isn't the most admirable quality of a modder. You can get mis-understood a lot.

All I want to do is remove the unit limit, not completely change the game or make money off my creations.

I don't actually know any of the sites, I haven't ever really been to any. I can, however, solve this for you. You want the supply limit removed, right? So that you can build more than 200 supply worth of units?

right. i want/need the supply limit to be 400+, but I still want the supply system. I can set every unit to require 0 food but we want to hv to build supply depots, etc.

Here's a zip w/ an exe which will up the supply to 500. Just run from anywhere. Oh, I can't change team games supply counts(like team melee, team free for all, etc.).

All people playing must have this running otherwise, you'll desync in multiplayer.


Note: This isn't coded too well. It gets the job done, but doesn't look for errors. Use at your own risk....
