View Full Version : Opera: The Browser!

Well, I just downloaded Opera.
I have to admit, it is a very fast browser. On the internet, as well as using my computer's memory.
But, as far as I am concerned, it is still no FireFox.
Maybe a few Opera users can help me out...
So far, my biggest problem with Opera is:
Estensions & Bookmarks.
I like all of the extensions I am using with FireFox. Such as:
AdBlock
FoxyPlayer
FlashGot
FasterFox
DL Tweak
But, in Opera, I cannot find extensions, nor the easy bookmark "bar" underneath the URL address...
So, if anyone can help me out or point me in the right direction, that would be great!
Thanks to anyone that helps,
If you want Opera to be like Firefox then you should probably be using Firefox.
If you want Opera to be like Firefox then you should probably be using Firefox.
*Rofl's n' meh's* That's what I thought actually... :smirk:
And Forsaken', may i advise ya to also look upon at the NoScript (similar to AdBlock but more powerful) and SpellBound (spelling wizard) extensions? ;)
Edit add: I use'em... well, to be honest, not SpellBound anymore at my laptop since FF v1.5. disabled it (and a whole s**tload of others that had running). :P

I got confused with AdBlock and NoScript.
The one I have is NoScript. Workes Great!
Anyway, I think I'll just be sticking with FireFox... Although Opera had a faster browser.
Well... If I wanna bookmark a page, I just click "add" in the top of the bookmarks panel. To enable the bookmarks panel, go to tools->appearance and go to "panels". Select the ones you want to have, fiddle around with other stuff until you're satisfied and there ya go.
The Opera interface is extremely flexible, which is actually what I enjoy most about it. Just right click any toolbar and click customize, and you go to the appearance window I described earlier. Using the four tabs and clicking on any toolbar anywhere in the browser you can add and remove buttons as you please.
As for extensions, I can't help you. I don't use any, nor do I know if they exist. You can look here (http://my.opera.com/community/customize/), but there's not much looking like extensions, much more like skins, toolbars and stuff like that.
