Okay, i enjoy rpgs. they are fun :-D. The only real *good* one out there is dark ownage lineage. i was thinking about creating a RPG. i sure can't do it by myself so i was wondering if anyone would like to brain storm ideas? you'd pick from 5-10 heros. agility,str,def...ect.. you could pick up items and they would change your appreince.. like lineage. i know this would be hard but well worth it. i have Discreet 3ds max 7 which will be good enough for model and animations.. I'm thinkng about a team of workers.. you know sound, art, programing, ect. it would be the bigest map yet. around 5mbs i say? like the hugest map with spells, quests, and stuff. i know this is a lot of talk but i would like to try and see if my dream can come true with your help. that's basically it... we'd have our own webpage tooo... so slow downloaders can get the map.. ..and work lag and stuff out later..
My IN-Game SN IS:

If you have anything to work with, i can help you out with triggers, i have been thiking of making a similar map, but the work that needs to be put in finding the right model attachment points, and making the models fit the other types of attachment like chestarmor/shoulders and helmet. Hate doing modelling, though iam quite nice doing triggers.

agree. the main point i'm trying to stress is custimization.. i know that's a bit harder, but a lot of fun to play. im not too bad at triggers but i'm not an expert.. so there would be like: hats, swords, shoes(doesn'tchange really but color and whatever),armor, leggings, and maybe some type of skates.. lol it would be like ability acutally like sprint or something... haha back in pokemon i got my "running sneekers" and they helped a lot so yea... anywho im just bouncing ideas off my head so yea. i have another person who may be intrested in helping too..he's a trigger guy. i have a modeling/skinning frined who could help out a lot.. so yeah i dunno. we'd need a theme/point.. maybe you're a phesant who got teleported to some random world and whatever and you have to get out of there by battline..and there is like evil kings(bosses) or simply it could be a dream..i'm not sure really and im sure some other peole have more creative skills then me.

If you are talking about an online map, you should probably be aware that they have a limit of 4mb.
If you are really thinking of making something masterpiece, better don't mind the file size. And yes there is a limitation of size on map, but yet, if you really look at the stuff you are talking about, each is just of 50kb or evern lesser in size. (The attachments like HATS, BOOTS, SWORDS and so on.) so that is really not a big deal. There are great customization systems outside that you can take avail of. (Like Inventory Extention, Mount System, Advanced backpack handler etc.) Skins is something I hope you can handle. And if you could get "War3ModelEditor" along with some Oinkerwinkle's tools, you can create great models without messing around with 3dsMax or Gmax or something. (I guess Geoset merging is quickest way of making a model though it's not much creative. Sorry... Great modellers around, but I normally prefer geoset merging rather than getting in the confusing 3D Softwares) Anyway, you can have you map's size under 4 mb... The major factor which increases the map size is nothing but sounds! To eliminate this touble, you can simply make episodes of the story and even if it's Multiplayer, you can set up the conditions that all players must finish all of the quests and they must agree that they want to end the episode. Otherwise they can move around, hunt, play or customize! Don't ask me saving the heroes between episodes... You can use the string or password system to generate your hero rather that actually saving it in Cache files. Storyline is something which becomes necessary if you hadn't got much customizations, and can also be cast aside if you maps have loads and tons of customizations. Hope I clear up everything and possible doubts. Post here for any further help you need. ( ....That's the way, Man.)
Well, rather off this topic, I myself like RPGs to play. but it's really takes too long to design everything and every quest. Damn me for not having that much patience! And anyway, as you've mentioned that you are well at triggering, I think I will have to sit down for a while!

i can help with triggers if you want when and if i am available, just post questions here and I can try to help. Also, you dont need as much stuff as you might think to fill up the 4 mb limit, it may be to small for what you are thinking of...btw, there are lists of attachment points out there, just off hand there is units: origin, hand, left and hand, right, head, overhead, etc.
buildings are more complicated with medium and sprite or somthing like that.
