StarCraft Screen shots.

I was just taking screen shot for my new sigy. When I look at my StarCraft directory... it wasn't there. I did a computer search, "screen", and found a new list of screen shots in "C:\...Mapi\1033" and I was wondering what the heck was it doing there? Is there a way I can set it so when my next screen shot goes to the StarCraft directory?

I have the same dilema When I usually save screenshots, it goes into my mpq101 folder for some odd reason

If you use something like a CD Crack, it will go into the folder the CD Crack is in.

Theoretically you could change the directory forcefully, but I don't know how. I didn't find anything in the Registry Editor, :\

I forgot what the program was called, windows defragment****?
Forgot but that's the think that makes the connections lines like when you double click starcraft, the lines tells the comp to "read E drive".... Maybe you can link it manually...

You mean "Disk Defragmenter"? The program that takes hours to defragment your computer. It just spends a couple houres organizing your computer to make it run faster. And on my computer an E:\ drive is for when memory stick or .mp3 player is pluged in.

oh yeah, i know it takes long, but that's the only idea I have.

I have 2 hard drives... my F drive is the USB/Portable storage/Printer/Mp3 port.
It's really weird, my dad's comp has H drive o_O

Diffreant Windows has diffreant names for drives.

Heh, my friend can't run IceCC because he has an F drive instead of a C drive.

Anyways, try restarting StarCraft and taking more screenshots, see if things still go to that folder. Did you download anything that may have affected StarCraft in this way? Is there any other use for the folder the screenshots are going to?

i installed Sc long ago, then got this trojan horse, which i have to reformat disk C:. now everytime i put the disk in, it says install SC, even thought it's already installed, but i was too lazy to reinstall.

Perhaps I should reinstall?

That would be a good idea.
When you reformat, some programs apps (like Compaq System Restore) will just erase anything in the Windows folder (including the registry) and replace it with its backup. Other apps will literally get rid of everything on your C drive.

Most likely when you reformatted your C drive, it erased the registry so now the computer thinks you do not have starcraft installed.

As for the matter of the screenshots, I have enver had this happen to me before...
But then again, there is always the possibility of *COUGH* warez... :angel:

However, you said you aren't doing any of that stuff so I will take your word for it and just leave this with

I was getting tired of having it being presented as F: drive when I hadn't any other between it and the D: one (my CD drive). He can fix that as I did to my USB pen show as the E: drive a looooong time ago (on an Windows OS) and due to that I don't recall all the details. :P
But to change it I recall that had to get into the "Administrative Tools" on your starting menu part. It was one of those services. Then you must locate the F: drive and switch it's name to C:. Just beware when doin't that, it isn't as simple as it looks and some of the options there may tinker hard with the PC's configuration. ;)

It was because of that annoying file type that made me the "loser" of my business asignment at school, cause everytime my group members file transfer something to me, it's transfered as ".doc" but when I go to "my recieved files" it's a .mpq file, and i can't read it... What is that? and why is that happening?

A *.mpq file is a type of files storage archive that most Blizz's games use. It's similar to *.zip or even *.rar. Plus, if you wanna open *.mpq files, I advise ya to head here (http://www.warboards.org/showthread.php?t=9407). ;)

And if that happened to ya (switch between *.doc file and *.mpq) then there's somethin' fishy goin' on at that PC... that or someone changed the file extensions without even knowing. <_<

Curses....the person who sent it is a SC hater... theres no chance she would change it to a mpq file....i opened the file as a word document and i got these symbols that can't be made from microsoft word. There was a zergling symbol too. I hafta reformat....again.
