Ok, since I've pretty much mastered the Alliance(I have four lvl 60s, a hunter, a warrior, a priest, and a rogue), I'm looking for something of the Horde variety.
What races and classes do you recommend?

I could recommend a Tauren Shaman. It can be anything from a tank (When he gets mail, it's good), to a caster (Believe me, mine can cast, too ^.^), or even a mix of the two. Shaman are very versitle like Paladin, although they aren't built to be a full frontal assult tank. Primary caster, however, they could do better, unlike a Pally... Freaking 2.5 cast time heal... Blech...

You say you have an alliance priest . . . what spec? If you played mainly as a healer and group priest . . . seriously consider trying an undead shadow/disc priest. Face melting is fun. Really fun ^_^.

My priest was made to heal. I considered a shadow, but didn't want to rebuilt my entire character.

Get the epic priest staff. Benediction. It has the power to change into a friggin' awesome shadow priest staff... *Drool*
I forget the name, but it roxx0rz my boxx0rz. Shadow spec is really simple, too. Once you get Shadowform, you're all set. Just no heal :(

P.S. This is coming from a person who watches Shadow priests, not plays them >.<

Hahaha, well, I found shadow priest to be the most fun for PvP. I only ever got to mid40's, but I honestly <never> lost a PvP encounter. I would go out of my way to hunt down people several levels higher than me for more of a challenge :P. I actually found myself doing some really intense micro to survive, which is what PvP is all about in the first place. Ahh, <3 <3 shadow priest ^_^!
The no heal part is only half-true. Vamp embrace and dev plague give some half-decent healing as long as you can dish the damage :).

I don't play my priest much. I'll try a shadow priest, though.
So try a Tauren Shaman? Alright. I'll consider an undead priest, though it seems to me that it wouldn't be too different from my night elf priest.

Trust me, the gameplay is vastly different ^_~. It's like a completely different class.

How so, dear pineapple?

As UD, you get a nice curse that does DoT and sucks life. That makes it *way* different, as you can HEAL yourself while in Shadow form. Other priests can't do that normally without someone else. Therefore, you can hit more faster, but you also have one more move to throw up before the fight >.>

1.5* SWP = dead mage, dead rogue.
SWP + Dev Plague = dead mage, dead rogue.
Restorative potion to cure mana sting + mind blast + DoTs = dead hunter
A hell of a lot of kiting and mana burning = dead pally
All the dots and some mindblasting = dead warriors (pre overpowered lvl 60 gear warriors, that is)
Not to mention the vamp embrace, silence and the awesome face melting ^_^. Oh mind flay, how sexy you are.
Seriously though. 1on1 PvP, the shadow priest is completely unrivaled (save overpowered epic-wearing warriors). Hell, even 2-3on1 (odds against you), the shadow priest has a decent chance at winning :).

Hmm... alright, I made an Undead priest. His name is Lexand, on Medivh.

Undead ice mage.
Don't listen to them, Mage is the worst choice you can make.
Keep your priest, it'll be much more fun than playing a mage.
Depends on what you want from the mage. Fire mages are rare later on, since everyone can get fire resist... Ice does decent damage... But if you get Arcaneish, and go crazy, you can build a powerhouse, strangely. Arcane mages can do some heavy damage if spec'ed right, although it's more of an end build from what I'm told.
To increase all your damage by 35%, and have a chance at clearcasting in the 10% range? think about it. That's insane! Pull off Arcane missles with no interuption, you have a few seconds worth of cast, and possibly could pull off clearcasting! It's nuts!
Just depends on what you want, though >.>

As far as PvP goes . . . ice mages are one of the rare classes that actually have a chance against end-game warriors. Against all other classes, it's better to be fire//arc and rely on this one set of attacks:
- polymorph
- arcane power
- ephemeral power
- fireball
- presence of mind
- pyroblast
- fireblast (if you can get it in//if they aren't dead)
Assuming you have high crit gear and high +damage gear, and with 2 crits, this is an autokill for most players. Otherwise, mages kind of suck at 1on1 PvP. Mind you, they still make great bombs in group!

I'm having quite a bit of fun with my priest. I'm lvl 19 right now.

I would recommend a shaman simply for the experience, since you never get to see them as alliance, except when they're killing you (I know, I've never beaten a shaman in a duel). However, I would agree with the UD shadow priest idea, but otherwise, just pick any class, preferably different from what you've done before, and play. I think the biggest difference between the horde and the alliance at the play level is the different location. The horde get several different dungeons at lower lvls that I really enjoy, much more than the alliance ones. I would also recommend starting a troll or orc character, because I prefer their starting area to everything else, though that might just be because I'm most familiar with it.

I hate Durotar, actually. Too repetitive, and screw shamans. I'm lvl 37 right now, and I took a shaman at the same lvl as me. Gogo shadow priests!

Durotar actually, by many, is concidered the best starting area, moreso than any Ally or other Horde area, simply because many of the quests are quick, can be done by youself, and include many "Kill so many of these," with a slight 'iffy' drop rate. That gives you a grind-quest, simplicity of it, and also the knowing that you're moving fast.
NE's, after inspection, did get the most screwed. Not only for the 20-30 minute run from Darnassus to IF, but also for the insane length they have to run to do some quests, as well as slightly less rewards and exp than other places. They almost expect you to do a slight bit of grinding, as well, which is usually overrated pre-15, unless you're doing it for a quest >.>
Yea. NE's got shafted, while Orc / Troll do well. Heh... Oh well. Tauren starting area was a close second to sucky with NE XD

P.S. Level 37? Almost Shadowform :D

Hell yeah. I'm almost to Stone Guard, too.

I meant in appearance. Nothing but red and orange. It looks barren, and devoid of life. Not vibrant at all. It's boring. And everyone is too quiet. It doesn't have the lively feel that Elwynn or Dun Morogh has.

Ok, ok, I admit I have no way to survive a shadow priest 1v1, but I still think I'd have a good chance at taking them with me.

That's why I specialize in group pvp. Until I got to about lvl 50, I seriously had less than 2k health. But even before then, I had some insane amount of mana, and now I have somewhere around 7k mana, with arcane brilliance. In duels, hands down, I'd end up dead, but with less than a third of my mana used up. So I respecced to arcane, got arcane power, and now (particularly in groups) I run out of mana before I die.
And for you pvp priests out there, I would say that healing can actually be better than shadow if you can get a good pvp mage to team up with. When I have a priest at my back healing and shielding me, I am unstoppable, I can just run in to any group and use AE at will, and then everyone dies.
I can't crunch the numbers, but turning 7k+ mana into dmg means death for anything on the battle field below lvl 60 with epic gear.
