Does anybody know if there is a way of playing Starcraft on 1024x768 without those messy pixels?
Is there a patch which enables the game to be used on any other resolution rather than the original?

StarCraft was designed to be played at an 800x600 resolution so that those with larger monitors don't have an advantage over those with probably older machines. I'm afraid I'm not aware of any program that enables you to adjust the resolution or how the screen is displayed (there is a program to run StarCraft in Windowed Mode, but I haven't tried it and can't tell you how it may affect the screen). I have a widescreen monitor so it took a while to get used to everything being distorted in the way that it is, :P.

Can't you just go to Settings and change the display?

Not that simple Gladius <_<

I do not believe there is any known way to change the resolution so I am afraid you are stuck on 800x600 ;)

The power of searching (http://www.warboards.org/search.php?searchid=62213)... *Hint, hint* ;)
Edit add: And I do remind that some threads at the TA area had close comments (to the ones here) and perhaps a solution, I just don't remind if it was a viable one.

Starcraft's not run on 800x600. It's run on 640x480.

Everytime I edit a title screen for SC, the resolution is always 640x480.

I played window mode. It pop-up starcraft in a window, that all. You see everything as if it were running regularly but just smaller.

There is a program you download. I believe SEN may have it. SCI will probably have it back up soon. I don't know about SC.org.

EDIT:

a3 hasn't brought down the previous SCI site, so you can download it here (http://www.scindex.com/downloads/?fileid=203) until it gets moved to the current site. You may run into an advertisement, just ignore it and the download link should show up after ten seconds (if JavaScript is enabled). I don't know if it works with 1.131, it was designed for 1.11.
