For a mapping rookie, I'd suggest picking a Hero unit, copying it and then customize the hero's max level to the one ya want to. Don't forget to tinker it's tech tree and/or abillities if you want to give him some customized ones, different than the hero regular ones. ;)
P.S. - Can you please stop writting post in Bold, Italic and all rainbow flavoured colouring as well? Imho, it would make those more appealing to the general eye and probably would get more views and thus answers.

And if it's not too much trouble, can we keep "map editing" threads in the Foundry where they usually go? Map makers and the like tend to stop in there frequently to view and help those newcomers.

Unfortunately I think our good friend whoman_human's map making career will be short lived. I've noticed that people who are so quick to just pray for help usually tend to give up and go back to DOTAing :(.

Don't take it so hard, penguin is just stating the usually cases. Rigth now you are not on my shitlist, you performed the two most important things when asking in this forum(according to me). You gave your thread a name which had something to do with the subject of the question, and you made a question about a specifik problem you had, which you needed answering of. If i could say that about all who start out at warboards, you wouldn't know the rookie from the pro. Also those who says that it should be in the right forum, are just anoyed that this is one of the most common starter mistakes, which is normally fixed if they complain enough. The moderators moves it, if they see the users complain. Also thank you very much for changing your font.
If you do not understand what Basan wrote, just make another specifik question about what you didn't understand, thats useally the best way to get answered again. (things like techtree aso.)
And also one more important thing: Welcome to warboards, hope you get all your questions answered.

;) just an expression. Anyway, about the obvious penguin statet out... Don't know about all, but i know alot here in the foundry have a distinct hate towards DOT A. For know, the best reply to how to make a hero was Basan's.

But for a more elaborated explanation go here: http://world-editor-tutorials.thehelper.net/uniteditor.php
This link, is a list of all the things you can edit in the unit editor (give or take a few)... Don't read it as a manual, or tutorial for that matter, you will forget it all in matter of minutes... no, make a hero like basan told you, and if you then figure out that you want a new model then look it up on that site... Darg(the creator of the "tutorial") have subjected it all, in the top there is a link to where the diffrent subjects are located. Iam sorry i can't just give more help than this, but with a large question, you get some "loose" answers, but if you make a unit and after many "hours" ;) still can't find where to change the model art, then you can always ask here again, i surgest, make a new post with a name like : "How to change model?". Not everything can be found in tutorials ;)
Also not knowing what you need is called in the manual... Search for phrases like... "Change model" or "model art" aso.
Hope it helpes, Zipsco

Thanks but i already know how to change a model.....
anyway thanks for your help
;) just an expression. ...
What he means is that if you have had badly named your thread, also had poor typing skills and sentence construction, you'd be pretty much screwed in the assistance field by his own standards.
Not in mine, but I must concur that generally it slightly weakens my will to aid as well... ;)

Changing a model was an example...... That "manual" covers of couse the basics, but every basic aspect... not just changing the model.....
And about weakening the will the aid. Yes whatever he said.
