I've been trying to Import a cool graphic file I've found for a Blood Elf. I've imported it and assigned it to a custom Hero. I've been able to add the character to my map successfully. Using the the "Test Map" function built into the editor I've balanced the character to the best I could, but after spending all this time, when a game is played, the model file does not show up when loading either the Map I used to Function Test the new hero, nor the game map created for the hero (The Playing Map I've also run through the "Test Map" option in the editor without problem)
I've followed up with the information at the following link:
http://www.world-editor-tutorials.thehelper.net/models.php
But it only talks about the graphic not showing up within the editor....
Ideas?
1st possible solution - Did you changed that Blood Elf Hero model file (in the Object Editor, of course) to the new one imported?
2nd possible solution - In the Editor you placed the right unit (read, customed Blood elf), either it be by triggers or mere map placing?
Those were the two options have swiftly come across in my mind (without further details from your behalf), although there could be others that slip up in my WC3-TFT mapping rookieness... ;)

Yes I did. Hence the fact I see the right model/hero in the editor and the "Test map" option

Yes. Visible of course correctly on the map. And when "Testing Map" (Option available within editor (Loads WarIII and goes straight to game)) the character shows up and is playable.

Then at 1st glimpse I don't know what's wrong with it... :o
It might help if you posted the map for us to look upon.
