Warcaft II Alpha Version

I know this is old stuff,but i was wondering where to get the Alpha version?All links direct me to some site that is no longer operational....

I was able to find a working download for it over a year ago, but the file/site has probably gone down since then. I'll see if I can dig up the link and whether or not it's still working.

The Warcraft 2...ALPHA?! In the name of god WHY? Was there something really cool in it or...something like that?

A piece of nostalgia, maybe... I wouldn't mind seeing the StarCraft alpha and beta versions first-hand. Can't say I really care much for WarCraft II.

The warcraft II alpha had stone as a fourth resource, and you had to "ping" the ocean to find oil, among other things. But like schwitzer said, it's mostly just for nostalgia - to see what the game was like in development.
