An act, a finale,
the final curtain.
The actors, they're finished;
that much is certain.
The lights, dim down;
dim down to dark.
Shh, no sound;
no sound, no lark.
And watchers see,
as watchers do.
From a distance, away,
far away, too true.
No cares, no worries,
no feeling, no shame.
They've seen it all.
They know who blame.
And one watcher alone,
so alone, so sad.
Has seen some more,
has gone quite mad.
In eyes burn anguish,
And tears of regret.
Hush, little one.
No fear, no threat.
In isolation, oh yes,
yet everywhere too.
A shadow, a backdrop,
Yes, boy, that is you.
The river, it flows,
yet you sit on the bank.
You're hopes never floated,
No boy, no they sank.
The stage is deserted,
the lights fade to dim.
Will anybody wonder,
what happened to him?
