Well, Blizzard just released yet ANOTHER patch and it has killed the newest version of penguin plug. <_<
This is getting so old, make one patch then leave it as is dern it!
Really weird thing is this new patch was released within the last 6 hours or so because penguin plug worked this morning but now its unusable. *sigh*

It got rid of a Hack that caused you to get 30,000 minerals, no lie, check Staredit.net (http://staredit.net)

Yes, I believe that Blizzard is doing what's good for the user base. So what is this, 1.13e now?

Thank them. Don't be sour that they made a new patch, its a good thing they did it.

I suppose its a good thing they are doing all this patching but it is so darn annoying, if you are going to fix a game.. fix it completely. Stop making us (The clients) keep going through all of these technicalities because of bad programming that someone has hacked. You don't see Warcraft being hacked every other day and them coming out for new patches almost weekly for that do you?

Damn. Now what did they mess up?The zealot, zergling and marines are unbuildable?
Seriously,we will appreciate it if only the patches aren't made so frequenly.

You don't see Warcraft being hacked every other day and them coming out for new patches almost weekly for that do you?StarCraft is eight years old. It wasn't deisgned to withstand the kind of hacking that has been occuring nowadays. To make it so none of these exploits are possible would require the restructuring of the StarCraft engine, which would still have bugs. StarCraft wasn't programmed badly, it just wasn't expected that peolpe would be so desperate to cheat and find such obscure loopholes in how StarCraft runs. There will always be bugs and exploits in a large program.

You don't see Warcraft being hacked every other day and them coming out for new patches almost weekly for that do you?Warcraft is not as popular as Starcraft, if it was about the same popularity, you'd see more dedicated hackers.

With over 2 million copies sold (according to G4TV) I find that statement hard to believe -_-

Do you guys think that blizzard could actually make a patch to stop the hacking thing once in for all?

Hmm, to sum up my collective arguments: no.

Im glad they got rid of the hack, but because of it, I had to restart my download of the patch about three times because it got stuck after not being able to download. Its extremely annoying.

Personally I HATE patches, they make advanced modding programs useless and most of the time kill peoples TC's entirely. I was going thru my SC archives for a little modding work and I noticed some files now have sister files.
:concern: its annoying!
There goes the modding neighbourhood... yet again. :P
And it only has been the... what? 5th time (now) or so?
/me rants and goes to dl the now latest patch *

Comeon warboard'ers! The thread is right here (http://www.battle.net/forums/thread.aspx?fn=sc-general&t=139872&p=1&tmp=1#new139872) for saying your thanks. Blizzard deserves it ;)
Honestly, because everytime Blizzard does something, everyone complains. It became a habit of people to naturally complain about everything, even if its good and for them. I just want people to be encouraged to break that habit :(

:concern: its annoying!So... You'd prefer a hack fest Starcraft? Anything goes, whoever has Morph Hack, and Mineral Hack can do as they please, and get unfair wins? Then so be it.

If you really want to play high-level hack-free SC, just sign up for PGT.

There are also UMS players as well. You may not think of it as much, but hacks such as that can ruin ums games by seriously unbalencing gameplay, like a turret defense, someone all of a sudden gets 30,000 minerals, so they can build infinate missile turrets and totally own the map.

Nope, Blizzard should just support there modding community like Relic does with Dawn of War.
(to an extant) :P
Although I agree with most of your points Yoshi', let me present one of the other 2 reasons (beyond the ones have mentioned already) why ain't that happy with their patching.
- They somewhat release messed up patches (like v1.09 or 1.13c) without the thourough testing it might need. :poke:
- Imo, they could patch some other neat features like when they imbued that right-click rally point thingy, similar to WC3-TFT works (if that's even possible, wich I think can be done). A good definite revamp over the game engine, that would prevent sleaze fest as they occur today, since we don't see WC3 that easily hacked... that would ease up modders and their tools a whole bit (read, no constant need for update those tools everytime a new patch is brought the light of day).
Other than that, I've got no 'real, big qualms' with'em. ;)

Thats odd?

Blizzard should make a patch that introduces something new!
If they care enough to patch a 8 year old game, they should at least add something to it.
-New units for each race?
-We don't need anymore maps, theres already thousands!
If they claim there to darn busy for stuff like this they might aswell commission a modder or two, but IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

That's because they can't support the modding community and some third party programs over others.
They added some stuff in 1.12, minimap pinging and Map preview and the friends list button in channels, but I doubt they're going to add much more. Adding units isn't something I'd think they'd want to do because it could throw off the balance of the game and really tick people off. Perhaps add a Lurker and Dark Archon and other BW unit heroes for mapping, but I doubt they'd even go that far.
