After reading the salmon of doubt, by douglas adams. (he wrote the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy), I came across a part about online questionnaires, and it said that douglas adams had known someone who had done an online survey, and the results were that 90% of the population was a CEO of their own company, and earned over 1 million dollars a year. so, do you lie on online questionnaires? (well, everyone will say no, so it will be hard to seperate those who lie from those who do not :( )

Maybe, it depends upon what it's about. If it's something serious, no, if it's a personality test I may exagerate and accidentaly 'lie', but usually I don't lie intentionally. That is unless it's asking for my postal code or something for an online registration then yes, I lie.

Ok... I fooled this forum for 7 months. Of course I lie on them, but at least once I tell the truth just out of curiousity.

That's the point of lying.
I dont lie, because thinking up something interesting to put is usually to much effort and its not like any one cares anyway.

I don't lie unless it asks for my zipcode or address, or if it has an age limit.
If it asks for an address or any other such information (E-mail etc) I dont fill it in, simple as that.

Not that I'm aware of. I only put what I know to be true... I don't know for sure my age is 15 (almost 16) but it's what I've grown up believing.

I *try* not to lie, unless I know it's one of those things that asks you personal questions and sends it to your friends so they can make fun of you. lol

Is this some sort of questionnaire? Let me think about what answer will seem the coolest with my friends before I pick one...

Nah, I don't lie on them.
Once, one of my friends found this site where you could make your own survey thing, so you could give its address to your friends and it'd e-mail their responses to you. Oh boy... that was pure evil...

What's the point of lying? If you will, why even bother to do it?

I was expecting everyone to say no, since, this DOES count as an online questionnaire, so, if you do lie, you should have put no. (since you are lieing then)

you are brilliant. :)
yeah schwittie i've seen that a couple times, it asks for the name of your crush and your last hook-up and all this personal potentially embarrasing shit, "we will calculate how hot you are" or some premise like that, but at the end it says you've been fooled and all that shit was just sent to whoever

I voted yes. When it comes to those "purity" or "geek" rating ones, I like to see how high I can get my percentage to go without completely fibbing the test. (Best part? Often there's a question on the questionnaire about whether you did bend some truths in the interest of doing so.)
However, what if I lied on this poll? ^_^

so, do you lie on online questionnaires? (well, everyone will say no, so it will be hard to seperate those who lie from those who do not :( )
rofl! Thats so funny.
"people lie! do you lie"
"no"
"lies!"
Anyways, I don't lie on surveys because I'd like to actually improve whatever product they're surveying about, especially if its a game. However on a certain stupid survey I mentioned a while back........ lets just say I decided to close the window before finishing the survey.
Lol the last time I answered one of those things (hammock) I answered it all like I was gay -- it freaked my friend out completely :X
Truthfully? When I do load a questionaire up, I almost always lie on them, since I find them all moronic :P
And if I know its one of those screwed up things where it emails the answers to a friend, I will answer all creepy like :o

That's why I said yes.

The "yes" should just be replaced with "I Will Not Lie"

No. What would be the point?

That's the point. So there will be no point. Therefore the liars wouldn't have to feel guilty of lying, because they took this questionaire and didn't lie since they didn't really answer it...oh wait...damn.
I am the CEO of my own company.
...ok, well maybe an imaginary one ;)
As for asking how much I make, why should they care. If it's required I'll pick the highest answer.
I'm actually an obese african american woman in my late 30's, sitting in a partially flooded living room in my small shack down here in Mississippi.
Seriously.

I got kicked out of home when I was 13 because of my drug addiction. Needing to constantly get my fix, I began a life of petty crime. When it became too risky and unrewarding to steal money, I began selling my body on the street, so desperate I'd accept prices as low as $20.
Then an African-American nun in her early 30's took pity on me, and let me move in to her small shack on the Mississippi, where I currently still live and terrorise her.
Seriously.
