Yeah, I know Fronter knocked together a quick one for people. Yet I believe that most people didn't get enough info out of it, especially not the noobs. So, I'm going into a little more depth with my own tutorial, and it's currently 80% complete. (After about 5 hours). I should have it ready by tomorrow, and I guarantee it'll be enjoyable, and hopefully educational too!

Don't you trust the mappers here to be able to answer any question anyone has about movie making?

Actually it's in repsonse to a direct request for a tutorial map. Plus, my map is gonna seriously pwn, you just wait!

I made the Guide for those how know the basis of triggers, if they do not know what I talk about, they will be completely confused. Plus, it showed what to include, just not really how to do it... Like the advanced triggers, I showed it, but didn't say how to do it...

I'm not saying you did a bad job, but merely that I am making a little bit more.

EDIT: It's finished! The map itself is 100% complete, and the testing/bug fixing phase is about 98% complete. So expect it on starcraft.org in a few hours!

And as kinda usual for fellow WB'ders that don't go often to SC.org (such as myself ;)), I kindly ask for ya to link both of'em here as well. Thanks! :smirk:

Cinematic or movie? (http://starcraft.org/maps/scums/multiplayerums/omegastorm%27s+moviemaking+tutorial)

Thanks. That way even WB's sole watchers may easily look into it for future mapping reference. :)

To be honest, I'm not exactly sure what you mean by movie or cinematic, but I think it can be used for both really. I've included a few special effects and stuff in there that you can use in games and stuff as well. If the tutorial is too fast or slow for you try changing the speed.

What I meant is,should these kind of maps should be called a movie or a cinematic?

*Meh* Imo, it doesn't really matter since it's able to be recognized as such (read, mainly it being a tut' and all). ;)

Personally, I call'em cinematics... but that's solely an opinion from a fella that mostly uses U.K. English. :D

I believe that a cinematic is part of a game, while a movie IS the game.

Ah. I agree with Midnight Gladius there

*Meh* Whatever. Since I usually don't make solely movie maps that completly suits me then. :D
I may be sorta a neat freak in my (SC) mapping or so 'someone' tried to label me that way :P, but ain't goin' to the point of making maps that aren't minimally playable. ;)

Add: Exception may be present at hand in future days to come, but even in those eventual happenings I'll ponder greatly if will do it anyway.

Yeah, it would probably be better for everyone if he just killed himself and the boss, but then it aint a movie, it's a sort of slapstick gag. Not to put down slapstick gags, just saying...

You know what I mean... :D
