I haven't visited Starcraft.org for about 2 and a half weeks, but when I did this morning, I was surprised and very pleased to see my map sitting, 4th from the top on the popular list! It has gone from from being a practically invisible to suddenly popular, and it really surprised me, because I hadn't expected ANYBODY to notice it for a long time! I'm still in shock lol. I know this doesn't necessarily mean that my map is the best or anything, but just the fact that it got up there makes me a very happy person!

Oh yeah, and I forgot to add, I made this map with the normal editor, not a hack. Do hacks cause trouble for you guys, with errors and such?

Sure, but this is a UMS RPG, not a melee map...

Congratulations Omegastorm, and welcome to WarBoards.org! Getting on the popular list at StarCraft.org is quite hard, I estimate we must get 30-40 maps per week so to be able to come to the site after two and a half weeks and see your map still on the popular list is a big thing because you've got a lot of competition. Good job!

I use SCMDraft as my main editor (I think I posted that on the SC.org front page heh) and I use it because for the maps that I make and the way that I make them I feel it's the best. I would say that 99% of the time they don't cause errors or anything like that, and if they do it's because of something you did, not the program. The editors are quite polished after being around for so long and they are real alternatives to Blizzard's editor. As I said, I never use Blizzard's editor now, I almost exclusively use SCMDraft.

I don't think I would classify them as hacks. Hacks are more like programs that edit the memory of StarCraft while it's running to enable people to cheat. These are just different editors. Take a look at the StarCraft.org mapping downloads page (http://www.starcraft.org/downloads/MappingDownloads) and play around with a few, they're reliable and have a few more features than the regular editor does.

Yeah, I was under the impression that the map editors somehow hacked the Starcraft database, but obviously I was wrong. Anyway, I can't try them because with my 56k modem it takes WAY to long to download them!

And yay, because I just realised my map is the best voted RPG on Starcraft.org!

Go go T.empla.R! haha, isn't this just so exciting...

Since we're celebrating, can I go "w00t! I got three-and-a-bit submissions on the popular list right now!" or is that just wrong of me? How did you ever manage to get 15000 on Bombardment anyway? Was that just with Bombardment or did you play other games as well?

Nope, just bombardment. Basically, it involves a long, boring process filled with caution and shooting guys in the front row. Plus, when three corsairs wandered past in a row it helped. The actual score was higher than 15000 until I hit some overlords and lost my last scourge...

EDIT: Lol, I need to submit some more maps to keep up with you guys! I wish I still had my "Race of Death" spinoffs...
