HELP!-Using Unused Units

Yes its me again with another question... While modding starcraft I tried to make a Independant Command Center have attacks like a Photon Cannon. I changed the Units.dat file and the Graphic and Iscript to a Cannon but It wont attack. Can someone please help me?

Just Clone a Command Center and add the attack of a Photon Cannon...i dont used UNUSED becuase it glitches

Does it have a range? Did you make it so that it auto attacks? Did you give it the attack button? Either the second or the third thing would be reequired (I believe) for the Independant Command Center to know it was suppose to attack.
