Does anybody feel like having a mini counterstrike 1.6 game night tonight? I've started up a server and want to test it out. Would anyone feel like playing?
:D Come in whenever you want. There's no password and it's up till 11-11:30 (Eastern Time).
The IP is:
192.168.1.102:27015

It's regular CS we're playing (1.6). Not Source.

I'm going to be watching a movie at 8. But I'll keep the server up.

I tried to connect, but it isn't up or something (3 retries then I gave up).

It was up for like 4 hours but no one came so I shut it down.

The server won't work on the internet?

It's an internal IP adress. If you want to talk to the computer across the room from your computer, which are both on the same network, it's IP could be something like 192.168.0.1. If I type that in, I'll get a computer on my network. In order for me to connect to your network (and server) you have to give me an external IP (which could be any numbers instead of just starting with 192.168). Then if you have a router etc. you would have to make sure you forward the right port to your server, and that your server box is listening on the right port, etc.

So how do I make it so anyone on the internet can join my server?

Find your IPA.

Add :27015 to the end of the address if you're using the standard Half-Life 2 port.

When you start your server, open the console and type this:

sv_lan 0

And people should be able to join your server.

Im using regular 1.6... Will it work the same?
And the server does have :27015 at the end already.
