I like the render and the lighting, but I'd totally redo all the mini-text and lines and stuff. Because with all that 2D stuff (other then the lighting) it's hard to actually see the piece. So get rid of the 2D lines and text, and just add a bit, so that you can actually see the render / lighting, and then it would look a lot better IMHO.

To me, there are two ways of looking at it. The first way is as a 3-d image. In this case, I agree with BH, the text and lines distract from the real 3d stuff and the depth of the image.

But the second way of looking at it, which I think is the coolest, especially as a desktop wallpaper, is that the 2d lines and text provide a plane (the geometry kind), almost like a glass tabletop if can imagine one in your living room, and the 3d stuff is behind (or underneath) the glass tabletop. Awesome!

There's a reason why I put that much 2d in it.

It's because I think the render isn't superb, so I'll have to add something extra to spice it up and let it look like a real nice pic. I'm still struggeling in c4d. I need to find a way to make really good renders. I guess I'm gonna try 3dsm in a while.
