Alright. I don't really approve of advertising normally, but the friend who's put the work into making it has asked me to do it anyway, and it is a brand new site that's had a lot of time put into making it. I'm only going to post it here, in the Debriefing Room, because it would seem like spam if I posted it in all the other Blizzard Gaming forums too, and this forum is viewed the most out of the Blizzard ones.
It's called BlizzardUniverse (http://www.blizzarduniverse.com/), and it's geared towards all things Blizzard, not just StarCraft (in case you hadn't inferred that from the name), although it encompasses quite a lot on each game that Blizz has put out. It's mostly finished now, but like most community sites it will grow and physically improve with the number of members it has, so check it out if you've got time. I'd appreciate it.

cpu speed doesn't count much. It's more of your connection. Maybe aquarian has a 8 kb modem or something :P

Analysis and Recommendations
* TOTAL_HTML - Congratulations, the total number of HTML files on this page (including the main HTML file) is 1 which most browsers can multithread. Minimizing HTTP requests is key for web site optimization.
* TOTAL_OBJECTS - Warning! The total number of objects on this page is 47 - consider reducing this to a more reasonable number. Combine, refine, and optimize your external objects. Replace graphic rollovers with CSS rollovers to speed display and minimize HTTP requests.
* TOTAL_IMAGES - Warning! The total number of images on this page is 43 , consider reducing this to a more reasonable number. Combine, refine, and optimize your graphics. Replace graphic rollovers with CSS rollovers to speed display and minimize HTTP requests.
* TOTAL_CSS - Congratulations, the total number of external CSS files on this page is 1 . Because external CSS files must be in the HEAD of your HTML document, they must load first before any BODY content displays. Although they are cached, CSS files slow down the initial display of your page.
* TOTAL_SIZE - Warning! The total size of this page is 476189 bytes, which will load in 95.10 seconds on a 56Kbps modem. Consider reducing total page size to less than 30K to achieve sub eight second response times on 56K connections. Pages over 100K exceed most attention thresholds at 56Kbps, even with feedback. Consider contacting us about our optimization services.
* TOTAL_SCRIPT - Congratulations, the total number of external script files on this page is 2 . External scripts are less reliably cached than CSS files so consider combining scripts into one, or even embedding them into high-traffic pages.
* HTML_SIZE - Caution. The total size of this HTML file is 28564 bytes, which is above 20K but below 100K. With a 10K ad and a logo this means that your page will load in over 8.6 seconds. Consider optimizing your HTML and eliminating unnecessary features. To give your users feedback, consider layering your page or using positioning to display useful content within the first two seconds.
* IMAGES_SIZE - Warning! The total size of your images is 430597 bytes, which is over 30K. Consider optimizing your images for size, combining them, and replacing graphic rollovers with CSS.
* SCRIPT_SIZE - Congratulations, the total size of all your external scripts is 3549 bytes, which is less than 4080 bytes. This will fit into three higher-speed TCP-IP packets.
* CSS_SIZE - Warning! The total size of your external CSS is 13479 bytes, which is over 8K. Consider optimizing your CSS for size by eliminating whitespace, using shorthand notation, and combining multiple CSS files where appropriate.
* MULTIM_SIZE - Congratulations, the total size of all your external multimedia files is 0 bytes, which is less than 4K.
Convert JPG's to GIF's
Reduce total number of graphics
Those two things will speed up load times immensely.

DSL is bad. Anyhoo, I have a 56k dialup, and what I do is I load the page until the word Home comes up on the page (about ten sec), and then refresh. The whole page comes up in about thirty, which is pretty fast considering how much coding this guy put into it.
And yeah, he did look at SCLegacy and Blizzforums for his stuff. I told him to actually try and break the mold, but he decided he wants something to attract people to his site. Funny, how I had to help ;) .
But anyways, it is a good site. The forum is starting to come along a bit, and I was hoping some people from WB could come and give us a jump-start.
