I haven't ATed very much at all, but I'm curious to those of you with friends that you AT with on a regular basis:
When sharing unit control in battle, is there a method of sharing you use other than the obvious control of your own army? For instance, does the person with better micro skills focus all their time on the heroes for both teams while the other manages the army or vise versa? Has anyone tried something like this, or is it simply situational as to what units you'll control when? Just wondering.

When you share unit control, you don't get FULL FULL control of your partner's army. I think he still decides what units to build, etc. and you can't really do anything about it. It's generally intended so that you can help each other out for micro during battles and the like. It's pretty awesome to do when a player gets rushed or harassed and you can help them micro.
Otherwise, it goes both ways. If you can see them using their micro to pull back a hurt unit and suddenly their hero starts getting focused, you can get the hero back much faster since they're concentrating on moving the unit. If you see them trying to flee with some units while he's trying to micro his hero, you can use his raiders to net them and get back to your units/hero.
Obviously you COULD "assign" a certain player to certain units, but it'd forever be weaker than just helping each other out with weak areas. IMO.
