Can someone help me (put a diagram, screenshot or something) with a base setup for Night-Elves? The whole Moon Wells at the front/sides and covering the Wisps is Ok, along with the Ancients-at-the-front strategy, but can someone help me with an exact placing strategy?
I've lost countless games (and one just now, infact) due to retreating into my base, only for it to be too crowded, meaning that weakened units become exposed trying to find another way through. Should a Night-Elf base be closed yet accessible, or open, but with every avenue guarded by an Ancient?
Help!
Thanks in advance.
It should be open, but with a perimeter of moonwells. I usually make a few ancient protectors who are surrounded by moonwells in addition.
NE is 80% range (or more) when u build ur base u have to remember that.
U also have to align ur trees so enemies have to walk past them thus resulting in the trees smashing the shit outta them!!!
Now because NE is range, u want to place ur MW's so when ur under attack Range behind them but rly close to them so they heal.
Ill get a Screenie later.

Dont listen to him, APs are usually a waste of money when used deffinsively. Mainly you want create 2 chokepoint and try to keep wells out front so its easy to heal and attack move while in your base. Ne/Orc are the two races that can be dependent on a good base setup the most really. For ex, a good base setup with NE can easily counter a BM harrass. Ill try to get you some screen shots later.

Thanks! What I'm worried about, though, is my units getting stcuk whilst trying to get back into the base through the chokepoints. The AI pathing on this game (one of my few pet hates about Warcraft) is so dumb, that instead of persisting in trying to make their way through a chokepoint, they will walk through the entire opponent's army in a desperate attempt to find another entrance. 99% of the time, they die. Any help with this?
Yea manually guide the units to the chokepoints by clicking several times to make sure they stay on the right path instead of just clicking once where you want them to go.

Against early- rushasz
When im playing against orcs, i build my buildings right against the trees so that the bm or fs cant kill any of em. Or you can close the left or right side of the town hall with an altar and moon well (block it) and leave the other side open with an ancient of war- and hide your wisps behind the ancient.
Be aware that at the early stages of the game, moon wells have the lowest health- yet if you hide em behind, its hard to use em.
