I *just* started, and I feel kinda dumb asking this, but it's really annoying.

Whenever I try to zoom out, the screen goes more black the more I scroll out.

Is this normal?

Try pressing the Ctrl key while scrolling to change how much you can see.

I tried that, and it still doesn't work. The more I scroll out, the more the screen goes black. I think it has to do with the angling of the camera? but I can't change that.

At a certain point, you start zooming out so much that you see beyond the horizon. This is not remediable (to my knowledge), and hence, you should only zoom out as much as you need.

It's not a problem, nor is it a glitch, but it is a limitation on the zooming-out capabilities of the editor.

if the terrain is sort of fuzzy at the top when you do this and not just a black line (a sort of fade if you know what i mean), press "v" to disable the option under view of "view game settings". Otherwise, just hold down control, and you can zoom out to basically any size you want.

also you can adjust the camera angle, create a custom camera with the camera palette, and alter the "angle of attack" to somthing lower, or higher. Then press "set view to current camera" on the camera palette to view that camera in the editor.
