Hopefully soon, this RP will get going again. In the meantime, I want you to start thinking of what magic your character will get. Post your ideas here and stuff.

Everyone can do generic magic. This is simple stuff such as creating small light-orbs, moving small objects and stuff. Normal people in the world don't get to have a specialization, but our character will.

The specialization will most likely be an extension of your current character trait -- whether a physical manifestation of magic or a emotional aspect. For example, Tony may have some type of magic that allows him to gain leadership, etc.

Restrictions:

At the moment, no elemental magic. No fireballs, ice, water, etc. These will be here, but come later.

Your magic starts off weak.

I belive that I tried to talk about this earlier, but someone shut me down.

Anywayz, my char being a chef might get something like Alchemic magic, or Druidic magic from is hobbies (camping/falconing). But I said this before *glares again* so I'd like to see some othere people post. :)

So, then like, Kirk's would be his crazyness is amplified? is that it? Cause, besides being a Trekkie, and a little crazy, Kirk has nothing really special about him...... I know! he could create deflector shield like thingies around him and his friends for protection. The shields only last for so long before he has to recharge, and, the more people he shields, the more power it takes. Also, he could create phaser beams. Cause, thats all I can think of that would go with Kirk and his personality traits. Although, he is a comp whiz, and he was and Eagle scout, and he is big and strong, maybe I can make something out of those. hmmmmm. Anyone have any ideas for Kirk?

I wouldn't know what power to give Deep... I mean he kind of has a too docile personaity to have any sort of mental power that would do much good. His most unique trait is his erudition... and an ability to play good baseball but neither sound magic-ish. I'll think of something.

wait I have a question... Do we get magic enhancer things like the villagers when we get Muniaya? Since we're all over ten.

Our characters are special; we don't need the magic enhancers.

Also, if you can't think of something natural that your character would have that would make a good power, feel free to come up with something cool that you find interesting.

The only restrictions are elemental. Sizaad, for example, has light. Darkness would be a viable category. Nature would be a viable category as well. Speed, quick reflexes, enhacned memory, etc. etc.

Hmm.

Magicwise, I can't think of much for my character. However, taking into consideration the "something cool" idea, I can think of a few that'd work with my character.

First, I said he's a fast talker (smooth talker) so possibly some pursuasion enhancements. He's a grifter, so enhanced reflexes would help out a bit as well.

I can't think of much else, but meh. Maybe I'll think of something else later.

Although I don't post, I do want to remind you of simple things:

1. Mind. You have willpower, and are able to think on your feet. Do complex calculations in a few seconds. Although it's not as noticeable at times, it will eventually grow to be powerful. You could find the square root of say... 63463 or something in a minute or so, but later on, you could do it in maybe a few seconds. Over time, the duration would shorten.

2. Skill of hands. Weaving, needle and thread, etc. Things like this could become very easy for one. Also, pushing buttons, manipulation of the fingers... All would slowly become easier.

3. Stealth antics. Landing without a sound... Seeing into the darkness a slight bit... Things like this would slowly come over you. When night first falls, although most people have to have their eyes adjust, yours do not. They stay able to see for an hour or two into light darkness. Over time, this period would extend until you can see into the blanket of night itself.

4. Healing. Although overlooked, it can be a trait. And I'm not talking about self healing, but healing others. More of a druidic form, but being able to know what plants do what, how to mix them, etc. Early on, you would need time, to find ingredients, etc. but after a while, you'd learn simpler ways to go about things, make it in less time, and have it be more effective.

Those are just a few ideas for you, folks. Just thought I'd help out ;)

That actually does help out alot. Thank you. My guy does have willpower, but isn't really good at calculations... maybe since he's a thinker, he can have a concentraition enhancemnt ability. That could help with alot of tasks I think.

I was thinking something along the lines of either "Time slicing" or the mental manipulation of others.... My choice depends on how the next couple of days (Weeks) go, and if BI is cool with the first one or not.

Time slicing is basically the ability to cut a second in half. The user is propelled forward and twice the speed he/she was currently moving. There are multiple levels of "Slicing", but it takes an extreme amount of focus to cut a half of a second into a fourth, versus only one second into a half. I'm taking the idea from Terry Pratchett's book "Thief Of Time", good book... Anywho. If anyone needs more info on the ability, just let me know and I'll either catch you on IRC or via PM.

P.S. I wouldn't be cranking my metabolism up, its a matter of magic/will power not anything physical. :)

I just read many, many pages of posts to catch back up and I am happy to say that I am completely caught up on Muniaya. I like where this has headed, and the RPers that are most active here are not RPers that I've written with before. Should be exciting.

So, we are going to learn Muniayan I see. I'm kind of in the same boat as SkyScraper, I'm not quite sure what style of magic Jumah would take to. The other thing is to decide what Jax's main power is. If we are trying to align Muniayan with personality traits I'm inclined to say that she should control fire. I know you said no elemental, but that only goes for our group right? Jax just seems fiery.

Other people can learn elemental; no one from our group. Over time though we will.

Everyone has the same magic. They will be able to control general stuff, however, everyone will have a specialization.

Yea well since Jax isn't actually 'one of us' she should be able to do elemental stuff. It's not like she'll be specialized since she isn't from our time anyway so she's gotta have some sort of power.
by the way, welcome back GDragon. I tried to mold Jax's personality. Is it going good so far?

I will try and make my character specialize in Dark magic...she will go into a twisted downward spiral and become uterly twisted...lol this will be fun

again? you always do that WB. Heh, I am thinking, Kirk gets kinda like prank magic, he has the ability to pull pranks and practicle jokes on people. That would be uber awsome.

I'm starting the Rpg, hopefully, My char is mor of a 'stay to itself' type. So I was thinking about a little bit of stealthness; no not to attacd, but to hide, to get away from the others and go where no one will find them unless he has said that they could find him it they really wanted to. I plan to start off with no powers at all but as I find that there are other people near me I slowly become more cautious of my peers.

-You all may be thinking that I'm just someone new here right? Well think again. About a year ago i was here and I am back. To let myself loose in full. Explore my mind. I am getting bored with school so I am seeking other things. I am the Smokey Joe that was here just over a year ago. The changed Smokey Joe that is.

AsK BI before you join, and make a char sheet also, read the summery. And If I remeber right, BI said all new people are villagers, not people from our world, but Natural Munyians.
