View Full Version : Is SC.org down?

I've checked the site for a couple of days in a row now and haven't been able to access it. What's the deal? Is there a revamp of some sort going on, or are there server problems? I know several other people who go to the site that are likewise puzzled. Any and all light shed on the subject would be greatly appreciated by us.

Same here. Although, I could check it yesterday. It seems to be down at the moment. Upgrades perhaps?
*Puzzled* Me too. It shows me the 'nifty, dandy' msg of "No-can-do to connect into the site". Sure hope it gets solved fast... unless it was another sleaze fest, dealt by exterior 'punks'. :P
/me hopes it's only a server DB backup / update *
And welcome to the site too, Yossarian. I sure hope that you enjoy it as my above 'friend' does. ;)

I noticed I haven't been able to connect to it since yesterday, but as far as I can see it's nothing that's under my control. Mystikal's the only one who can fix it. I think it may be related that DarkStar (our host) is upgrading its server versions or something. It should be online soon.

Sounds like a server problem. If so, Mystikal is the only one who can sort it out.

I must concure with you all. It seems almost as if SC.org is no longer with us. But I haven't the foggiest like the rest of you.

The funny thing is, the last time I finished the very first part to OUTPOST 2, this happened where I couldn't get on, and it turned out the site was being changed into what it is today. Now, I have part three finally done (7 months later) and once again, the site goes down. scary if you ask me....
P.S. Who the heck took my actual name, deadlyassassin? lol
Peace out.

If you use the same user name here as in SC.org it should be the same. So, in fact you're the one that actually tok it. (And if that's the case, remind to ask for this latest user be deleted or even merged with the other.) ;)
That also if merging the nick's databases of both sites that the admin's intented went smoothly. *Glances around*

Hehe, Hammock can't get the site back up any more than the rest of us can; only Mystikal can do that. :(
On an upside, it's nice to see some of the StarCraft.org members migrating over here - even if it is only to complain that SC.org is down :P

Remember, Schwitzer, sc.org members come here to complain.
Anyways, this puts a crimp in my plan....my plan you shall all see soon.

Yeah, but the fanfic is messed up now O_o . I dunno what's up with that. I was reading the third part of Outpost 2, and it sort of locked me out. Now I can't get into any of the fiction, and that's gotta be my favorite part of the site :( . I'd like to know what could have happened here. Server acting up again?

Yep . . . it was all fine yesterday, and now the FanFic is all screwed up . . . what is it that you guys are doing over there?
It's working fine for me now (Fan Fic' area)... maybe it was due to tweaking their newest input to the site - a Fan Art section (http://www.starcraft.org/fanart/) that already has a few sketches. :poke:

I can't get in. I'd sure like to know what's going on around here. Everyone's looking at me, joking that I decided to get techy and screw around with the site O_o .
*glances around*
I DIDN'T!!!!!
Anyhoo, I'm glad I quickly finished off my New Fiction reviews before it all closed down again. I would have liked to finally take a good look at the Fan Art, though. I hope sometime soon we can figure out why this site is screwing us over every other day O_o .

We had an unfortunate "One for me, One for Server" issue where Mystikal was partaking in beer, and decided to let the computer that hosts StarCraft.org partake in the beverages, which has resulted in all sorts of problems.
Actually, I honestly don't know, but we'll just run with that for now, okey?
People doing that has cost me two keyboards, a CD drive and a mousemat......
No websites as of yet however, mainly because I dont have any.
Is SC.org back up yet?

He should know any better that drinking is solely an animal action... no PC interaction required. :D

... with eventually a couple aspirins to the mix. And of course don't forget the handy, dandy hair drier to 'sober' the PC up.
As of the matter, from what I can tell SC.org is now back online (for those who care). ;)

When would you bet that it shall be down again? I am saying probably a week's time, perhaps a little more, or perhaps a little less. At this rate, things are sure to happen.
