try the search feature in the menu and search for what you are looking for, as I can never seem to remember how it gets fixed.
enjoy your stay and have fun.

you can still host maps but it gets a little harder..you have to open certain ports on your router to allow your wc3 to send information outgoing such as custom maps and the such. I could walk you through it but I get impatient too fast so I'll google a walkthrough for you..hopefully someone else comes and tells you how.

For the Mods- Could you stickie some kind of Warcraft FAQ in this forum? I have seen this question several times over and over, and It's becoming rather annoying.
Okay, what you need to do:
1)open up your browser (Internet explorer/Firefox/Netscape/etc.)
2) Type in 192.168.1.1
3) Look for where it says "Applications and GAming" or "Port forwarding" or anything that looks somewhat like this, but dont type in anything but what is in the red box:
http://markpyro.gotdns.org/routerportforward.jpg
4) Type "6110" to "6115" instead of what I did. Then, enter your network IP address, which, if you're on the main computer, should be .50 or .51
5) Enable the port forward, then click save.
Note, this is only my router. Things might look or be a little different.

You're going to have to be more specific. WHAT didnt work? when you typed "192.168.1.1"? You could'nt find "port forwarding"?

For me, when I had to fix mine, it was 192.168.0.1 - try that.
I never used to be able to host on WC3 RoC or TFT, but then i got SC, BW and i could host on that. Then i tried hosting on WC3 and it worked its a miracle.

Hi i am new to the boards and i am having the same problem since there is already a topic on this i didn't need to make one. For the ip address Markpyro gave me i need to put in a password and i dont know what it is. Is there any way to get around that?

For the username and password simply type in your email address as your UN and then type in admin as the password. This will open a web page that will allow you to change the features of your router, which includes allowing you to open the ports needed to host maps for Warcraft 3.
i am having the same problem as demon590 i followed the ip adress and everything and did the configurations but nothing is changing
do i need to reset my computer?

You must have set that password beforehand when you set up the router. You have the password, unless you lost it.

Use a spellchecker.
Contrary to what DC said, the default password is just "admin" and the username is blank.

Assuming I deciphered your statement correctly, it's a password you set when you configured the router.

We cannot help you in getting into your own router if you can't remember your own password.
What brand is your router?

For me, when I had to fix mine, it was 192.168.0.1 - try that.
This would be highly dependent upon the brand of the router. If the person is using a D-Link (Which I believe is more common) I am pretty certain it would default to 192.168.1.254 versus the Lynksis default of 192.168.1.1
The questioner should find the instruction manual that came with the router and look up IP forwarding...

Actually while looking at the Netgear product line, the information you supplied seems to be your wireless card, not the router...

Ok, here's the deal. I have a Netgear router, and it really annoyed me when I tried to host maps because, like you, I couldn't figure out the username and pass. So, after a little research, I discovered that (although your router is a different model and so this may not work) the address you should type into your browser is 192.168.0.1 and the username and password should be something along the lines of 'admin' and 'password' - as the router is local to your computer, they don't need any elaborate passwords. Go to the Netgear/Battlenet configuring pages if you have any more problems.
