This guy over at Blizzforums is clamming he works for Nvidia and they are doing something for SC2. It's a very long story, but could one of you techs check his facts. He seems to know-or appear to know- a whole lot about graphics.

Spying on your boss and watching a wireframe cinematic is technical? He never really told what he did, just "whatever we PCB designers do here at Santa Clara." And he saw some Blizzard execs. Woo?

I'm not as tech saavy as some of the others around here, but I don't see what there really is to validate, except maybe finding out if Vivendi and nvidia have struck a deal. But that isn't a technical issue. I did a little checking, and VU has released some games under nvidia's "The Way It's Meant to be Played" series, but that hardly means anything.

The one thing that doesn't make sense is this: why would a graphics company develop the game engine?

Modred did you read the entire thread?

I love how a 14 year old is questioning an electrical engineer.
Somehow, I doubt he's mature enough to be taken entirely seriously. Come on, taking a stab at someone's age.

My job is not at risk people, nor did I ever claim that. Nvidia lets us leak information here and there regarding new graphics technology and certain projects to build enthusiasm.
Earlier in the thread he clearly said his boss would not appreciate him discussing anything about future products.

I hold seven patents and two PhDs (Mathematics as well as Materials science and Nanotechnology from the University of Washington), sorry if I elaborate too much. I honestly try not to get off track.
Now he's trying to intimidate the mods.

oh yeah and for those who question the truth or accuracy, its pretty hard to pull a story like this outa thin air, and then create an account for the purpose of spreading news, just to make an elaborate hoax, dont u think?

Anyone heard of Michael Crook? Made an entire website called forsakeourtroops.info (no longer active) and even got on Fox News. Claimed he was entirely serious and he really believed in what he posted. Then his site posts that some guys from the military beat him to death. That's an elaborate hoax. Need some proof? http://marinecorpstimes.com/story.php?f=1-292925-855155.php Apparently, there was no murder. All nvidiarocks did was make an account; this guy made and maintained a website, defended it on national TV, and then faked his own death. And people thought he was serious too.

I see absolutely no reason to believe this guy posting stuff about SC2 and nvidia. Anyone with a little knowledge of the next wave of graphics technology could be posting that. And check out the image of "his" cubicle. The text at the top says something like "I shouldn't be in Dave's office." Hello, it isn't his!

I shouldn't be in Dave's office.

I think he is in the office of David B. Kirk. Funny thing is he may be David B. Kirk pulling a prank on Blizzforums. I dug up this picture, compare it to the one Nividiarocks posted

I don't beleive anyone who says they work for a company and have inside information they are willing to share. Most companies are secure enough to check employees to make sure they are loyal and wont squel about secret stuff.

When all the flames have died and the banners of discord dismantled, I have finally been found out as a fraud. Ladies and Gentlemen it was a fun ride, but like all things, it must come to an end. I had but the noblest of intentions. Not to bring attention to myself, but onto the wonderful world of Starcraft.

I wanted to bring hope and excitement back to a crowd that has been so tragically neglected for a protracted eternity. To long have we been ignored by Blizzard. And for what? A higher profit margin? Are we to believe that a company founded by gamers, run by gamers, and has been so loyally devoted to its fans is willing to not build a game we all have so longed for just to make money?

I intended to bring hope to all of you so that we, every single one of us, would never forget that feeling we initially had while playing Starcraft for that first time. So fresh, so authentic, we never wanted it to end, but sadly, as those feelings do, it gradually faded away leaving us with only a pleasant memory that often gets harder to recall as the days pass.

Alongside this short sojourn, I was not only aided by my own desire, but also the combined hopes and dreams within all of you. Don't let the blazing fire I rekindled today die friends. Band together and in one strong and absolute voice demand the product we all have so tirelessly waited these eternal seven years to see. I thank the critics especially for trying to keep me honest and I now leave this thread with the following quote from Ronald Reagan:

There are no easy answers ... but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right.

Farewell…

Talk about going out with a bang. Modred, I guess you were right.
