Ok, I've been planning a Warcraft RP, and have a skeletal story. Now, before moving on, I want to see if anyone would actually be interested in it. Now, answer the pollz0rz

Depends on the storyline. I might join. Although, I am in about 8 other rps and dont really have time for a new one. I might join when I get time.

Ditto, a half decent (or for preference, highly indecent :P) story and I'm game.

I just counted it up, I'm in like 9 or so RPs. So, yeah.....

In any case, I am not familiar with the world of Warcraft, or any of it's games, or units. Although I bet i could go to blizzards website and easily study them though...

I'm in three right now and will be GMing a few more in the near future. Plus, I don't much like fanfic RPs. Just a thing with me I guess.

Are you referring to your current avitar of the Orc of warcraft symbol?

So I take it you're on board. When I got to choose my charicter, could you give me a couple WC pointers seal?

The story I'm thinking up has almost no bearing on the current Warcraft events, so units are irrelevent. It focuses on one man, the Archmage Khadgar. And both me and Seal can provide a pretty much complete history of warcraft.

I can join! WB vacation is dead and Colony one is almost dead. I can join another rp!

Meh not a real fan of Warcraft… haven't played much so that might be why. I don't have time to join yet another RP, unless the story's good and then I'll make time. So ya, whatever.

Again, I have to go on my shpeel about how video game/compuer game/real life events are very likely to die, unless properly done with good experience (Which I still don't have).

1. Warcraft has certain followers. Of the people you'll get, most of them *should* have played the game, or you'll run into walls with those that aren't familiar with it. This leaves the member base a little lower from the start.

2. Being a video game, there are already expectation within the Roleplay itself. First, you'll deal with units/characters from the game itself. The problem is that all of them have 'set' things, like the Blood Mage casts Flame Strike, Banish, Siphon Mana, and Phoenix. There can't be anything else, or you've totally warped that which is Warcraft, and people will complain. Therefore, no new heros can be added, units that you pick will only have their abilities, and if they have more or less, they won't be "Warcraft," but only characters in a fantasy RP.

3. Story: If you decide to make this a prequel to that which is Warcraft, 2, or 3, then you will have to remember that certain races are or aren't there, some people won't have certain abilities, and you won't have had any of the current conflicts. If you go afterwards, you'll have already experienced this, and you'll have to be *very* cautious on adding anything, because it could be too different from where Warcraft's going, or you could twist a unit too far. Either way, the balance is very delicate, and anything you do could shift it to destroy it.

4. This one is big: Common sense. An archer will *NOT EVER* be able to take down an Abomination one on one with no support. Not ever will it happen. If it happens in this RP, and the Archer wins, I will come in her, spaz out, and destroy you all for your stupidity. A lot of things will be hard to do in this, for the fact that 10 people in this RP still will *not* be able to level an entire base without twisting Warcraft. Big time. World of Warcraft has changed a lot of things, like how Kodo Beasts look, who rides them, and the like (I don't play it. Stacey's told me much of it, though). *Many* people who will join this that have played WC3, will have also played or at least seen World of Warcraft. You'll have to specifiy a *lot* of things about which version of the units you're going off of.

There's a lot of small and big things that can mess with this, and destroy it. I personally say nay to this idea at this point. Maybe in the future when a lot of the roleplayers here have gotten much more experience under their belts (I've seen a *lot* of poor posts lately, myself included...). Until then, though, I'm completely against this.

Hmm... well, from the poll, I can see that I'm going to have to come up with a good story, and this was only for a preliminary check. If I still decide to release this, it will be by at least October, and will have a story that will be approved by a few of my friends, who are as big of Warcraft junkies as I am.
