This has been happening a lot lately to me. When ever I load a page, it will totally load itself and stop loading. But the thing is, it don't load the quick reply box. It is a pain in the ass because I have to refresh it a few time for it to appear.

Now you may be thinking, "Ooooo, he had to click Refresh!! OMFG! We HaXxrd now!!" with sarcasm tags, but you have to consider something. Out here in rural Ohio were the phone lines aren't the best and broadband is unhead of for miles 'round, my moden will often times max at about 38.8k or slower. To refresh noramlly takes about 3 minutes for me. To click the 'Post Reply' button is to give me enough time to shit, pop popcorn, sit down and watch Lord of the Rings a couple times.

I was just wondering, what's up?

EDIT: Post 850... woot. 2nd or 3rd day in a row of 50+ posts. And note: haven't touched WAYLT in awhile either.

WOW you have 851 posts with a modem that runs at 38.8k at maximum? I have cable so it doesn't take me that long (long as in 2 and a half seconds). About your problem, that never happened to me. I just wanted to know if you could play battlefield 1942 and halo on pc. Those are high usage games and I bet your ping is somewhere in the thousands right?

Maybe you could bug Fenguin for an alternate, low bandwidth layout?

It's his baby, he won't alter it for anyone.

That's why there's outsourcing. :D

He's on vacation in China, he'll be back mid-late next week, if I remember correctly.

Are you sure its not loading? Does it just totally not show up, or does it say "Quick Reply" and then thats it?

I dont know, there is that little arrow over there you can use to hide/display it O_o maybe yours isnt working right?

Bleh.

Oh and Fenguin doesnt have to change THIS layout, I and others just want a low bandwidth alternative. Dial up is not exactly easy on this website, it can take literally minutes to load all these images -- even where a solid table background would do.

No, it just doesn't show up. It says Quick reply and then that's it; i.e. the page will not scroll down anymore and there is no text box. I just checked what happens when you press the little arrow and the page doesn't look like that.

Even sometimes nothing will load below the Google adds.

Well without getting a Low Bandwidth version I dont think there is much that you can do ;(

youd better be careful who you say that in front of... :ninja:

anyhow, that happens with me too when my net connection is slow....

But WB is very light as it is...BF takes like double load time in times of net-crises.

I just click on the reply button if im impatient.

I find if you want forums to load faster go in and change the settings so that only 10 posts per page are showed, it works wonders really :)

Duddits it does it for me sometimes too, not only warboards but other websites as well, and I have a DSL connection. Trust me the page may seem like it's done loading, but give it another 5-10 seconds and the quick reply box will show up at the bottom.

I normally will do that. I will wait another 4-8 minutes, however, as I probably will be doing other things like typing or talking to firnds. Even after than, no box.

Eh, oh well though. I probably will end up turning picture oof again 8-/

Netrunner dont be an idgit :p

You dont get 3 gigs for each computer... its a max of 3 gigs for all three O_o or some such.

Cables upload sucks though, I would love a 1000 upload O_O

More than likely, three megabits/second for the line. And a router won't give you that speed for each puter, it's only for the line.

To be fair, I strongly doubt there is any cable out there offering 3 gigs down, the download seeped will hover around 350 kb/sec - 400 kb/sec [/nerdism]

Actually Comcast and roadrunner both offer 3MB down and I’m sure lot of other ISP do especially in big rural areas.

You said it, well with the RR part anyhow ;)

Your misunderstanding. The 3000 down translates into 350+ kiloBYTES per second, not bits.

Try it yourself if you have that service, you will never ever download at 1 megabyte a second, muchless 3 megs, or 3 gigs :p
