Whats a ROM? Like if I were to download a ROM of a game, what would it be?

Download Zelda: A Link to the Past.

A rom is a pirated game that another person has copied from their game. To play a ROM, you first have to download it and download an emulator to play it on.

A ROM stands for Read Only Memory - data that can only be read, not written.

These videogame ROMs are basically entire videogames stored in one tiny little file called a ROM. You need an emulator to interpret and display the data however. And it's not exactly pirated. If you have a copy of the actual game, to which you're playing the ROM of, there should be no problem.

Yeah. I have a ton of ROMs. You can get them for basically any console under the sun except disc-driven ones like PS, PS2, GC, X-box, etc.

My suggestion: Metroid, Zelda, Kirby, and Donkey Kong. Classic and fun. But look out; some games are IDSA protected and could be hard to find cause everyone's to afraid to make them available (you could get in trouble, you see).

On the contrary, you can use ISOs for disc-driven games. I have a few copies of PS games backed up that I play on my computer. I haven't tried any of the newer console systems, but I do believe it is possible to emulate them.

Or you can buy a Magic V modchip and burn rented games just for "educational purposes".

That reminds me of a one liner I thought up...

There are no stupid questions, only stupid people.

OR-- If you want to encourage someone...

There are no stupid question, only ignorant ones.
