Here's a few people that I've had run-ins with recently, and I'd like to share with you my least favorite people of the hour...

1. Those people that come into resturaunts, and decide that they're funny. They begin throwing crap all over, and then say "I don't have to clean it up, you do," and continue doing it. I swear, they're just asking for me to quit my job on the spot, and beat the crap out of them. I mean, this dude comes into the diner tonight, and decides to spill mustard all over the table. He then starts yelling at Megan to clean it up (She's our cook... And cooking at the time... Nice of him to interupt, eh?), so she gets some paper towels, hurries over, and starts to. She then has to run back to keep his burger from burning.

It doesn't end there. Oh no. He then takes his drink, coffee, I might add, and drops it on the ground. No, he doesn't accidentally have fall off, but he just drops it. It shatters, and spills coffee all over. The waitress, Kris, goes over, and she starts cleaning it up. Meanwhile, he starts yelling at her about how slow she is, and how the food's taking too long, and how this resturaunt sucks, etc.

The food comes out, and what does he do? He says "I'm not hungry. Put it in a to-go," and so Kris does so. He then starts to walk out, and Megan stops him saying "Excuse me, but you haven't paid." What does he do? He takes out a quarter, drops it on the ground and says "You know? I shouldn't give you even this. The food stinks (Although he ate nothing), the service was terrible (Oh, we're sorry, we did our best to kiss your butt), and I'm late for a meeting (In the clothes he was in? Not likely).

Needless to say, he was our worst customer tonight, and probably the worst they've seen in a long while.

2. Those people that think they own you. They tell you what to do. How to cook the food. How to do this, that, and the other. I swear, I want to take them back to the dish area, and show them what I'm doing. Then have them tell me what to do. I'll then give them the scrubber and have them do the dishes for a while. Maybe I'll get a decent break while I get paid my lousy under the table wage...

3. Really, really drunk people that know they're drunk. And they have to make sure that everyone knows. And that they can still be sober at the same time. What do I mean? I know a lot of people on the forum may drink, and may come on the forums drunk. But can you openly proclaim you're drunk, and act it, but somehow act non-drunk too?

This guy comes into the bar area (The other side of the diner's a bar. Two seperate parts of the building, seperated by a small hallway. My dish area's there, so I can see both places from where I work), and falls into a chair, basically. He then orders up a drink that our bartender can't make, due to lack of ingredients tonight (We're short right now... Shipment tomorrow >.<). The bartender tells him she can't make it, and he starts getting into a drunken rage. She tries to calm him down, and he says "I'm sorry. I'm drunk right now. I'm going to act like an *sshole... I hope that's Ok."

Come now. If you're a drunk person, you know you're drunk, and you're going to torture someone, do it somewhere else. This is a public place, and you're going to take your frustration out on our bartender. Nice.

Needless to say, he does this throughout the night, and by the time I left, he was leaving. I talked to the 'tender, and she said something like "That guy really shouldn't have been out tonight," and I wholeheartedly agree.

People like the last three really need to learn a lesson on life. That would be dying in my opinion, right now. I'm quite tweaked right now, and just need to get it off my chest.

And to those of you that act like this? You really need to change your attitude. Try working where I do for a while, and get paid a lousy 5 bucks an hour under the table. Sure, cash is fine, but if I get hurt on the job? I have to pay for it. No insurance. No coverage. No time-and-a-half holidays or overtime. No freebies. Nothing.

Please. Think about the workers. And realize how much we have to put up with you people. Working at Olive Garden taught me a lot, and working here's teaching me even more. Think about the workers.

Ah, the pleasures of working in a resturaunt. Not that I've experienced them as an employee; I've been reserved to be the guy in the next booth over. One of my friends wrote a similar IHOP rant a few weeks ago, only she was directing her frustration at her fellow employees. Apparently IHOP has attitude problems.

People like that bug me as a diner because sometimes you just want to enjoy your meal, you know?

Whoa... that first one... what an absolute prick. I wonder what his problem was? He had obviously come in with the full intention of being as obnoxious as possible... and I honestly can't think why someone would want to do that.

You should have phoned the police on the first guy.

Anyways, come to Alberta in a few months, you'd get 7 dollars an hour minimum. :P People are stupid and ignorant, you'll have to deal with them as they come. Can't get away from them.

Isn't it true in Canada that you don't tip, though? You're supposed to just let it be... And you know when Americans come in, because they tip, and you're like "OMFG WTF?!" and stuff?

Just something I heard... >.>

We don't have tipping in Australia, either. Something has a price, and that's damned well what you pay for it.

For the first guy, I wouldn't care about losing my job, I would have "escorted" him from the restaraunt myself.

For the second guy I would purposely act stupid just to piss him off..

For the third - Refuse him service and hide.

Man - I'm always curteous to the workers, I could never imagine being such an ass..

Sorry to bring up your ignorance, but no. I wish that were true, but we tip the same as the rest of you, usually 10% or something. Tipping is "optional" if you don't come back to the same restaraunt again :P

Hell, some places even include the tip. Isn't that nice of them?

Alright, now we all know this guy needs to be punished. First, if he ever comes back make sure to get him good. Call the police and have them wait outside. Then, torture him in as many ways as possible. Add the cost of the last stuff he ordered to his bill, and then if he doesn't pay all of it order him to wash dishes or whatever you do with people who don't pay. When he walks out of the restaurant, the police will nab him :P

If he doesn't come back, the next time someone does this have a large muscular guy bring his food to him :smirk:

You know no offense, but if that had happened around me and said manager on duty (or whoever was in charge) didnt escort or ask said person/persons to leave I myself would've left. Then again maybe not, but you get the idea.

The fact that the first guy wasn't escorted out shows to me that either you have incompetant managers, or they just don't care. And either way, why the hell are you working there? MY annoying wal-mart o/n managers were more competant then that -- one of them loved to throw out idiot young people.

Drunks are just annoying. I would've started fucking wtih him, like moving his stuff an inch over every once in awhile, or replacing his drink with water and then tell him he ordered water ><
