View Full Version : Looking for a *Different* Resident Evil map...

Well first off, I'm sorry if this isn't the correct sub-forum for this.... it was the best match I could find.

Over a year ago I played with a map developer, whom I only wish I could remember. I suppose if I did, it'd make my whole quest to find this lost Resident Evil map easier.

The game starts out with all 1-6 or 7 players at bottom left. Everyone is a Black Marine, thus it's nearly impossible to tell who's who (unless you unally everyone one by one and have allied/enemy colors on).

The first objective is to disable the computer security system, which you do by going up the left hand side, and hacking the computer system by moving a Zergling (which appears when you get near the computer), to the beacon at the top right side.

That method is either done using a reaver or zergling, depending on the level of difficult computer system you're hacking.

I could easily go into further detail about it, but I'll just post this and hope someone remembers this and still has the map.

I miss it so much. The game creator and I used to play it all the time, and BS everyone else in the game (you can beat it with only 2 people... tricky if you're a newb, but definately possible).

I also wish I could remember the version name of it, however upon hitting the 20 year old mark, I think all these gray hairs are beginning to affect my memory. :( :p

Thanks for whatever help you guys can offer in advance.

that sucks. If you played it, it must be in your hard drive right? Just search for it and open it in map editor or play the game. Good luck in finding it though.

Nope... computer crashed and I had to reformat... not going to find it anywhere on my HD. :(

What do you remember about the map's stats? Namely...
- Map size
- Terrain (sounds like installation)
- File size
- Spelling ability of the maker
- .scm or .scx

Well thank you for replying Edvard... fortunately I managed to find it. I was going to attach it to this post until I realized we're not allowed to upload any files?!?!

Is this something restricted to moderators, or am I just being a friggin idiot?

It does get boring after awhile of kicking the shit out of it, but there's so many places you can bs people and go through it as a renegade marine.

The version name is -AZ-, made by -Azrael666- I believe.

Cool! I'm glad you found it. Missing a beloved map is so annoying.

That's strange... you can't make attachments on this board. Hmmmmmmmm, you can make 'em in the SC maps forum, however. Maybe they have to be turned on for each forum, and the mods haven't gotten around to it for this one yet.

Eesh.. Well I'm just glad to see you guys are actually active here.

I made identical posts on this same topic on BlizzForums *shudder* and Battle.net forums, with no replies here (http://www.battle.net/forums/thread.aspx?ForumName=sc-general&ThreadID=59805) and here (http://blizzforums.com/showthread.php?t=37604).

Guess I'll just be coming here in the future from now on. This is really the only other place with a community that's actually *active*. :)

Again, thanks for your help EdvardMunch. Lemme know if you ever need help finding a map. My friends and I have an enormous StarCraft Map database... I just didn't want to bug my friend in Idaho with most the maps... he's on vacation. :/

I'll speak to the Administration about the allowed file types and see what's going on.

Actually coRt, if you are interested in playing single player campaigns from Starcraft, then would you be interested in trying out a campaign made about three years ago by Judas Cloud called "The Shifters". This campaign is also the Official Campaign of Starcraft.org (I should know, because I have been with Starcraft.org for almost three years now) to which you can find it here (http://www.starcraft.org/scums/packs/). I believe that you will find the campaign to be both entertaining and difficult at the same time. :D

BTW I hope to see more of you and other members of Battleforums.com to visit us as I will will be visiting Battleforums (and other Blizzard gaming communities) off an on as an ambassador of the WarBoards community. :)

This probably isn't really appropriate for the thread, but just out of curiosity, was the Shifters a complete campaign that starcraft.org adopted, or one which was made by starcraft.org?

The Shifters campaign was made by a member of the Starcraft.org community, named Judas Cloud many years ago. To which had gotten adopted into being the official campaign of Starcraft.org. So technically, it is and then it isn't a campaign from Starcraft.org.

You're only allowed to post maps in the Maps and Mods forum; not actually here in the General one. Feel free to post your map in there, 'cause it sounds interesting :)

Very much so, that map sounds great for something new to try, mind if I try it out and review it for a map review if that's ok with you?
