One little question- menu

Someone mentioned that the new menu saved bandwidth. From a technical standpoint, I was wondering how this was so.

in terms of graphically, it's a 2kb file vs the other navbar which was 10+
other than that, well-coded JS can load much faster than html that relies on vB's internal operations to display itself.
